This cruise os for 90 minutes. During the year, Winter won't see much people; but sumer you will. This cruise is very informative and enjoyable. You will learn alot about Launceston as I did. This trip led for my decision to visit the Cataract Gorge.

On a gloomy, wet day we went for a short (50 min) cruise around the Tamar, Esk rivers and Cataract Gorge aboard the historic Lady Launceston. Not the best day for a cruise but a fun and informative little trip. Ross our skipper was entertaining and full of interesting information about the rivers, history, shipping and general knowledge of the... More

Great little cruise up the Tamar to cataract gorge. The captain was super informative, from history to now, including real estate, future development, and everything you need to know about the history of the Tamar River, Launceston and Cataract Gorge.

The Cataract Gorge cruise was spectacular. Spacious boat, leisurely pace, extremely knowledgeable staff, and the added attraction of sipping excellent wine while viewing the beautiful landscape around us. We enjoyed it, and it was a landscape photographer's delight.

Peaceful journey up and down the Tamar River with commentary from the Skipper during the trip. Even the rain didn't affect the tranquility of the Gorge. Souvenirs at te ock were reasonably priced and good quality.

Did this cruise recently, the 2 & 1/2 hr option, and while it was enjoyable, for me, the duration was a bit long. The staff were very knowledgeable & friendly, and the morning tea offered was great as well.

I still find it hard to believe this is right in the middle of Launceston city. The one hour cruise was gentle, informative and beautiful. Though our guide wasn't particularly chatty, we learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. It was lovely to have the engine wound back and just glide up the river. Well worth the trip.

We have taken boat rides in the big European cities at a cheaper price, more scenery, longer duration and no local promotion. The six minutes spent telling us stuff we had already read in the tourism brochures before we started our "50 minute" cruise and the ongoing promotion of local sites was more than a little annoying and detracted from... I thoroughly enjoyed my 50min river tour with Captain Callum. His knowledge of the river system, Launceston and Tasmania was inspiring. Upon his recommendation, after the tour I walked back to Cataract Gorge to explore the many paths and visit the basins he had described on tour. Such a peaceful and relaxing tour. Well worth it.
