I still find it hard to believe this is right in the middle of Launceston city. The one hour cruise was gentle, informative and beautiful. Though our guide wasn't particularly chatty, we learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. It was lovely to have the engine wound back and just glide up the river. Well worth the trip.

We have taken boat rides in the big European cities at a cheaper price, more scenery, longer duration and no local promotion. The six minutes spent telling us stuff we had already read in the tourism brochures before we started our "50 minute" cruise and the ongoing promotion of local sites was more than a little annoying and detracted from... I thoroughly enjoyed my 50min river tour with Captain Callum. His knowledge of the river system, Launceston and Tasmania was inspiring. Upon his recommendation, after the tour I walked back to Cataract Gorge to explore the many paths and visit the basins he had described on tour. Such a peaceful and relaxing tour. Well worth it.

We did the four hour journey to Batman bridge and back. This included a tour of the gorge which was really quite short as the boat can't go very far, together with a trip up to Batman Bridge and then back again. The price included morning tea, lunch and wine tasting. The food was excellent. The boat was a little... More

Mid afternoon in Launceston with some time to kill and we opted for a 50 minute Cataract Gorge cruise. Just we two and Captain Callum, who has lots to offer not only about Launceston but all of Tasmania. Very enjoyable and comfortable trip on the three rivers with the highlight being the short run up the gorge. Save your tickets... More

We did the shorter 50/60 minute cruise to fill in some time before lunch. This was a nice little cruise but some of the scenery (before Cataract Gorge) was pretty average. The commentary was mostly interesting. Cruising into Cataract Gorge was by far the best part of the trip as the scenery was beautiful. An added bonus was that the... More

Middle of school holidays and a day off work so decided to take the 50 minute cruise to Cataract Gorge. So glad we did this little trip, Launceston is so beautiful from the water. Found out quite a bit of local history and the gorge was lovely. We were lucky enough to get to see the Sea Shepherd in the... More

Great little 50 minute tour. Pleasant, relaxed and informative. Switched to electric propulsion down the Gorge, which meant a quiet and beautiful cruise. Must Do when in "Lonny"!
