Our tour guide, Robyn, presented a brilliant history tour with great enthusiasm and in-depth local knowledge. We delighted in learning about the social history and were amazed at the number of historic buildings which have been preserved and give Launceston its unique character. Value for money and highly recommended!

Robyn led us around for about 1.5hrs showing buildings of the early Launceston while filling us in on the history and showing photos of the city from the past. If you are in to buildings and architecture this would be perfect for you but even with us younger ones the sights and stories were really intriguing!

First class experience. Robyn has a gentle, disarming nature and the characters, events and facts are delivered with conviction and passion. We were totally engaged and interested such that we would not have noticed if the tour was longer. If done well, these tours place you inside the back story and provide insight on the present and future. Mission accomplished... More

Robyn is an enthusiastic, very well informed and friendly guide. She is justifiably very proud of her town and its interesting history. I really enjoyed learning about how Launceston began and its stages of development. I do many of these historical walks and this is one of the best.

We have always wanted to get to know our beautiful city Launceston a little bit better, so we decided to go on the Historic Walking Tour conducted by 1842. For only $15.00 we had a personally guided tour by Robyn, around the city. It was amazing, we discovered hidden gems and stories about our city. Robyn was very informative and... More

At $15 this tour is way under-priced. Robyn conducted the tour with knowledge and passion for her home city. We arrived straight from the airport in time for the tour and what a great way to get an introduction to Launceston and its history.

Launceston has the advantage of of being set in a beautiful surroundings with Cataract Gorge close to the heart of the city.
