Polluted river as city is at the end of the tributary. Possibly better waste management practices required, sewerage spills straight into river near industrial area of city. Signs up warning of danger of swimming in river due to pollution. More

I don't know where the other reviews were looking but it must be the most discusting river in Aus. It is simply full of silt and mud. More

“Take the time to enjoy a different view of Launceston”

The river cruise gives you the opportunity to hear some of the history and see some of the sights from a different angle. The 50 minute cruise of the sights and the Cararact gorge in lovely, but the 4 hours cruise is a great way to relax and enjoy a meal, meet new people and get to know the history... More

If shooting great pics is your thing then you MUST include this river on your "To Do" list while in Launceston. The scenery is magnificent and at times reminiscent of the smaller fjords in the Nordics. More

Tamar River in Launceston is very tidal but the wetlands area is a wonderful excursion. You should also take a boat trip with Tamar River Cruises. More

walking by, we saw a seal playing in the river! Obviously means the water is clean enough despite all those boats on the river. More

I have never seen any river such as this magnificant massive, breathtaking river in Launceston, Australia. I took a river cruise in Launceston(the only river cruise).
