Spent 14 days in kirra during March. Water temp averaged 24 degrees each day. The beach was only closed for swimming once whilst other Gold Coast beaches were red flagged far more often in that time. Kirra beach is somewhat more sheltered than cooloongatta beach and thE beaches to the north up towards surfers paradise. Very clean beach. Saw fish... More

Great surf beach, if your swimming, keep in the flagged area to be safe, lifesavers on deck, all good.

For those of us who hail from the UK, this is the sort of beach of our dreams - mile upon mile of beautiful soft sand, sea temperature one can laze in and endless blue sky above - what more is there to say, except that we could spend months here!

If you want to play in the sand and water than this is the place. Fun to play with kids. You can get a good view of the city. Lots of eating places as well. Would recommend spending atleast half a day here.

Stayed in Kirra for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our walks along this beautiful beach, also our swims in the mornings. It's a well patrolled beach, but the advice is swim between the flags, you never know if there is a rip and things can happen very quickly. Great cafés along the strip which serve up some fantastic food.

Great beach for families, also love the pathway to walk or ride bikes along. Good playground for the kids and exercise equipment for the adults :)

If you are on the Gold Coast, try My Gelato. No preservatives, artificial colours and flavours. The flavours are sensational. I like Mama Mia, Taste of Sisley and Sour Cherry.the flavours are changes regularly to the excitement of your taste buds. Maybe I should buy some shares!!!!!

Considering it's size, Kirra Beach is quiet calm and suitable for children. It, like most beaches on the Gold Coast, is patrolled. The water temperature is always pleasant (almost bath-like) so you can swim all day long.

Have been a handful of times. I'm not an overly beachy person but it's beautiful here, & has a laid back 'old fashioned' vibe. Huge mixture of people & obviously many locals who devote a lot of time here. It's well patrolled & seems pretty placid compared to other beaches like Surfers. The water is very pretty & serene.
