Went to the Hunter Valley region for a weekend and went wine-tasting at Brokenwood. While the cellar door is small and old-school, it has a certain charm to it. Busy afternoon as lots of people were tasting, but we were very well-looked after by a young lady named Fraiah (thank you!) who took us through the tasting and recommended some... More

Years ago we enjoyed a tremendous visit to this winery for tasting and in the following years bought many of their excellent wines. However, our recent visit was a disaster and a totally unprofessional wine tasting fiasco. Our morning arrival in the empty tasting room was greeted by a surly youth with a 'what do you want?' We asked to... More

$5 charge to sample horrible wines, cheese and crackers were missing and the lady did not know what she was talking about. Plenty of better wineries in the hunter!

There are so many free tasting experiences in the area it may seem crazy to pay for the experience. However, it was well worth it. We had a very informative tour by a truly knowledgeable guide, passionate about her wine and it's creation. No boring script, and happy to answer all our questions. The tasting then made much more sense,... More

This place is clearly popular and well known. The wines themselves are varied and enjoyable but lacked some wow factor for me, personally. Of course, this is completely personal taste so don't discount it! The staff were very knowledgable and personable making the experience a delight.

A relaxing, laid back atmosphere made my visit here enjoyable. Staff knew their product and allowed it to sell itself. I thought the whites were good, summery and light.

There are a lot of cellar doors in the Hunter Valley region, but Brokenwood is one of my favourites. Two reasons: first the wines are classy and excellent (although not cheap) and the second is the staff who are warm, friendly, and are eager to impart information and anecdotes. You go to the cellar door for the first reason, and... More

Brokenwood was part of the wine tour we attended. Our host was lovey and very knowledgeable. As well as the wine was beautiful and we just had to leave with a few bottles.

We've always liked Brokenwood wines and took the opportunity to visit the cellar door and were invited to have a tour 'behind the scenes' - loved every minute. Still a premium product with lovely, informative staff. Well done!
