It's pretty lovely, good place to spend with family perhaps; however blame me, I just expected too much. It's quiet. It's okay to go once, and that's pretty much it.

We went to the gardens in May which appeared to be between seasons n terms of their annual plantings since some of the formal beds were empty. Also the fountain was turned off and the advertised talks at key points didn't happen.
Having said that, the gardens are lovely and a nice way to spend a couple of hours. However,...

Not being garden enthusiasts we were rather reluctant sceptics, but what an amazing experience on a perfect Autumn day in the Hunter Valley.
The gardens have many outstanding features, including several differently themed areas, sculptered plants/bushes and the delight of the Storybook Garden.
It was truly a rewarding experience to savour the multitude of sounds, fragrances and colours, not to...

We aren't usually into gardens but we both adored the HVG and it's themed gardens, particularly the Story Book Garden. Only complaint is that some features are getting a little old and need a clean/update. Also was annoying that gardeners kept driving past on the carts, meaning noise and the smell of petrol, (although we did go on a Wed...

The gardens are a must see! different themed gardens, an amazing walk around and I think there is nothing like it anywhere in Aus. There is even a little train for those who might not have the stamina to walk around.

Very interesting with different types of gardens, ponds, seating areas, view points fish, birds. Cafe etc. Worth a visit, it is a longish walk round but there is also a little train that goes round some of the gardens for those who need it.

We probably visited at the wrong time of the year (autumn) but the garden was still beautiful which we managed to take loads of striking photos as memories. The cafe is also nice and relaxing with large servings at a small cost. Will definitely come again preferably in spring when we will be able to see the garden at it's...

I had such a good time there. Wine was the best. Friendly staff.

Imagine an 8-hectare piece of land housing a Rose Garden where the scent of roses abound amid an array of colors of the flower of love; an Indian Garden with a hint of curry in the air, the Oriental Garden with a pagoda and quaint bridges, topiaries shaped like elephants, horses flying across the grass, lakes with ducks gliding above...

We travel past here quite regularly and stop every second or third time. We stopped again yesterday for a couple of hours mid-journey and left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Even though it was mid-week, there weren't too many empty carpark spaces!
It's the sort of versatile place that you can spend hours wandering through or visit for a meal and...
