It is a lovely experience having a stroll round Fort Scatchley. The guides are informative and happy to engage children and ask a multitude of questions

History in Newcastle, worth the visit & there is parking available nearby for your convenience. Find out more about the city which just missed out on being Australia's Federal Capital.

A great piece of Newcastle History. Spend the time & check if there's a tour on, its well worth it. We had a guide on a previous visit and there was so much to learn & appreciate. While you're there check out the views of Newcastle & the coast. Best option is definitely a warm sunny day, but the views... More

Volunteers are very knowledgable. The setting is wonderful with fabulous views of Newcastle Harbour and Nobbys Beach. Special events are held. One of my favourites was "Music of the Guns"... More

We went here for the first time a few weeks ago and the kids loved it. There aren't too much rooms open to check out but it's cool to walk around the top and see the beaches, water, coal ships, and Newcastle. It's a really great view. I think you can do a tour of the fort for a fee... More

On the 27th of October, we did a tunnel tour of Fort Scratchley. We did not know about this tour and came across this tour be accident.. Informative, interesting these are some of the words that can describe a bit of history at Newcastle. If in the area on any day except Tuesday when it is closed, spend about 90... More
