Having a glass of wine on the deck of our lodge, watching the sun set and giraffes and zebras walking witin 100m of our lodge. Waking up to the sounds of the wild animals. Doing the Zoofari is something I recommend everyone do at least once. I doubted the price but it was my sisters 30th birthday so went along... More

A winter Sunday visit to the Western Plains Zoo turned out to be a relaxing and memorable outing. The park is beautiful and the animals have plenty of space to enjoy. The visitors can also enjoy the space and have the flexibility to drive around the park, hire bikes, being driven in carts, or simply walk. As we did not... More

A last minute decision which turned out wonderfully! We homeschool our children and what a wonderful opportunity to see and learn so much about the animals, their breeding programs and need for protection. The ticket flexibility to enter the zoo for 2 consecutive days and come and go as we please worked well for our needs. There's a wonderful park... More

The overnight zoofari is great experience. Three excellent behind the scene tours, our guide Helen was excellent. Her love and enthusiasm for the animal's welfare shone through. The provide meals were excellent. The glamping tents were very well appointed and luxurious.

Taronga Zoo deserves its reputation - very easy to get around by car, bike or even golf cart and the animals are often close-up even though the enclosures are large. Good café (albeit a bit slow) and very friendly staff.

What a lovely winter's day out! Passing through Dubbo on the way home from the Gold Coast, we decided to linger for a day & take in the zoo. We packed a picnic & a thermos which turned out to be good thinking as the cafeteria half way round does not open midweek! To be able to drive round, park... More

The Taronga Western Plains Zoo is a must if you are visiting Dubbo. The family price is very reasonable and there is ample parking all around the facility. There is lots to see and the kids loved looking at all the animals however the Meerkats were a firm favorite (so cute). If you are feeling energetic riding around the complex... More

Food appalling, as a government run institution, it should be putting their advertising to better use. Educating people about good quality take away food instead of serving up the regular garbage that most take away’s sever. The government want us to eat health food yet serve greasy chips, high wheat products (pies & pasties etc), sugary drinks, lollies and ice... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Went with my 2 young kids and they loved it. We were originally going to walk around but decided to drive instead. I would definitely recommend driving around especially with you children. Many animals could be seen from the car and then others you parked and got out for. There were nil issues with parking...
