We have visited this zoo 3 times and love it. The best way to see it is by bicycle if you can. Car is fine but you are constantly getting in and out of the car and then having to walk to the enclosures. We went on a cold, cloudy winters day. If cycling, don't leave the gloves in the... More

A relaxing safari with quite a few animals in middle of nowhere. Well presented and well planned Zoo where you can drive around at your leisure. You can use the ticket for two days. You can also hire the open vehicle and bicycles.

I found the zoo to be a nice and easy drive around but I don't recommend taking toddlers here as they could easily fall in to enclosures without strict supervision. I found that I couldn't let go of little ones hand for fear of this, making the experience less enjoyable than it should have been.

Dubbo western plain zoo is a wonderful experience for children and adults alike. Walking, bike riding, buggy driving or own car around the zoo circuit approx 5 kms so much fun. Free BBQ facilities, so many available and shelter provided. Recommended for any animal lover

We had a wonderful time and visited the zoo on the first day with a Dubbo resident who has a yearly pass with his granddaughter. Consequently our first day was better than our second as it helped to have a personal guide! He's an Environmental Scientist and assured us that the zoo also does an excellent job at conservation etc... More

I have taken my children into the main Zoo of course and being able to drive walk or ride through the zoo is great fun and the wildlife is amazing. Having said that I have been to the Free area of the zoo on numerous occassions just to grab a coffee from the cafe and then sit on the grass... More

Oh how I love this zoo. If you can afford to stay the night do so especially for the zoofari. If not just drive, cycle or wander around and appreciate the animals in gorgeous enclosures. My favourite animal is the bongo and feeding it carrots and learning more in our overnight tour was a highlight. Tiger talk is decent, elephant... More

A single ticket is actually valid for two days; definitely worth planning to spend both if you have the time. 10% cheaper if you buy online and print tix. Spent one day driving around (it's not actually advertised anywhere that you can take your own car through, and I think many people rented golf carts and bikes bc they didn't... More

We arrived at the Zoo early, mid week and off-peak so was pretty quiet. Managed to get a reasonable discount from the seniors concession. Did the self drive and most of the animal exhibits were fine with reasonably close access. Some of the areas looked a bit tired and were in need of jazz up / clean up. Overall a... More
