This free bus tour of Armidale is a brilliant way to learn about and orientate oneself with Armidale. A minibus with a guide takes one around the town, giving the history of the area pointing out significant architectural features, agricultural information and stories of bushrangers and explorers. Two stops are made, one at the railway museum where there's a short... More

My husband and I took off from Brissie for the G20 weekend down to Armidale. What a pleasant little city it was. My husband and I enjoy looking at old buildings and were not disappointed with out walking tour around the town. We picked up the directions from the Visitors centre. Albeit it was very warm, but very enjoyable. Some... More

The guided heritage tour is around 2.5 hours on a 22 seater bus and departs at 10am daily from the Visitor Information Centre. You will get some great commentary on some of the old buildings in Armidale including, historic cathedrals, churches, hotels, memorials and other monuments. The bus also visits and stops at the Regional art museum and the Aboriginal... More

Jenny did an excellent in depth sharing and explaining the history of the area. Lots of background information on the central park and the various churches in the area. History of the art museum and teachers college and how it all came to be via donations from various benefactors. The railroad and University tour were also in depth tours. Wish... More

I can't believe such a great bus trip is free!! There was so much information given, about Armidale, its history and buildings. There is no way you would be able to find so much info on your own!! Best to go on a weekday, as unfortunately, some of the stops are not open on weekends ... still worth doing, but... More

We found out about this tour when visiting the Armidale Tourist Information Centre, the staff of which are extremely helpful. The tour is a great way to see the historical and important sites of Armidale and to learn about its past. The guide was very good. It may be better to go on a week day as some sites a... More
