My wife and I joined 11 other souls on this 3 day adventure and fun-filled hike. No rain - yeah!! Because the numbers are small you get to meet and know everyone in the party which is different from some other guided walks (e.g., Milford Track) . It's promoted as an "experience" rather than a "walk" which is true. Excellent... More

The start of the track begins at the carpark approx 1 km along the Lower Hollyford Valley road, where you cross the suspension bridge and follow the river that feeds directly from Lake Marian. The track takes you past some awesome waterfalls then it becomes quite rough and steep at times but easily negotiated. Once at the top the view... More

Having just spent 3 days walking the Hollyford Track on a guided walk with Ngai Tahu Tourism, I can't commend them enough for their professionalism from the time of booking right through to transporting us to and from the track, our guides, the lodge staff and the meals. A wonderful adventure

Our two day adventure was an unforgettable experiance. Part of a small group hiking tour with the fantastic company New Zealand Trails. Our flight down Milford Sound was in perfect weather conditions and awe inspiring. The Lodge at Martins Bay is welcoming and relaxed and the food delicious. At night so far from light pollution the sky is bursting with... More

I can't say enough wonderful things about this guided 3 day adventure. Every detail was perfectly thought out. Our guides, Jackie & Kahu were informative, helpful and loads of fun! The views on the track are breathtaking. The host couples & food were outstanding. The lodging was very comfortable. The jet boat and helicopter rides were awesome. The small group... More

One day of rain and 2 of sunshine. The weather makes all the difference. I will never forget the sunrise over lake Alabaster or the helicopter ride up Milford Sound. But for my wife, feeding the eels was the highlight. The lodges were fantastic and the guides (Hamish and crystal) unintrusive and unfailingly helpful. The only downside - the sandflies.... More

The valley is great and on the two occasions I was there, not crowded. Flying into Martins Bay from Milford and then using the jet boat up the lake makes it into a pleasant walk. Doing the portion called the Demon Trail can be hard; the jet boat avoids that portion. Oh, let's not talk about the sandflies!!!

I wasn't really sure what to expect before I started the walk. I'd chosen it really because I only had three days free, and the dates were the most convenient, but I'm so glad I did. The scenery is spectacular, of course, but what made the trip outstanding were the guides, Hamish and Kahu. No turgid lectures, but little anecdotes... More

Have just completed this guided walk in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. As we are two seniors we hoped we'd manage the track OK and we did, with moderate levels of fitness. The guides, the lodges, the food, everything, was fantastic - they absolutely spoilt us and couldn't do enough for us all. We felt the whole experience... More

This trek has incredible scenery - a rainforest rich in variety with ancient trees; views of enormous craggy mountains and a wild coast line. Complimenting the scenery, is the wonderful information given by the two guides. The huts and food couldn't be better. The walk was very manageable for anyone with moderate fitness and the helicopter ride at the end... More
