We just completed the 3-day Hollyford Track hike. It would have been a beautiful hike, but it rained the entire first day and most of the other two days, so we missed the majority of the beautiful views. Got very wet -- luckily, both lodges have very nice dry rooms. The guides were great -- very knowledgeable with great stories... More

Due to time constraints, we were unable to walk the entire Hollyford Track, but we decided to make a 1-day tramp out to Hidden Falls and back. At 9km 1-way, we kept up a good pace and made it to Hidden Falls in 2.25 hours, thanks to a decent trail that didn't have a lot of elevation gain/loss. The trail... More

This 3 day walk was exactly what we wanted. Flat but still challenging, beautiful forests and landscapes, a little luxury, great guides and hosts and exciting jet boat and helicopter rides.

This trip is best done by bus,( although the road is very good and well maintained), you can look at all the fabulous scenery without being distracted. Book to leave from Te Anau as it is an extra 2 hours drive each way from Queenstown & makes for a long day. Take you camera and a warm jacket for the... More

You could do the Hollyford track by yourself, but I highly recommend booking the guided tour. Our family of 5 ages 13 to 47 joined 9 others (half Kiwi, half American) and our extremely knowledgable guide Graham for a three day trek through the Fiordland rainforest. Day one was 19.5km, day two was 15km with a jet boat ride and... More

The track and the natural beauty of the place speak for itself on the track, but what really impressed me was the quality of the organisation and the insight the guide gave us on the track. (thanks Graeme !) Graeme helped the group bond together and we all learnt lots of new things about how New Zealand plants, animals and... More

Toss together untouched nature, spectacular scenery, a very very knowledgeable guide, Graham, beautiful trails, warm inviting lodges equipped to pamper one at the end of a long walk, great food and unique flora; the result is a totally worthwhile experience. I was worried about my level of fitness. My daily routine is a very brisk 45 minute walk in a... More

I can only repeat what everyone else has said - this is a really great walking experience. We did the Milford about 10 years ago and this runs it a close second as a walk and is way better in terms of the accommodation/guide/total experience. The first day is certainly long - if you start from Queenstown you have over... More

3 days and 60 km (38 miles) of trekking on the Hollyford Track in the Fiordland National Park in New Zealand. Beautiful trails, great lodges and really nice people: Phil and Liz, David and Sam, Travis, and especially our guide Moosh. Just a fantastic team and organisation (and food!!) which made the experience so special. I should mention that being... More

A wonderful guided 3 day walk in the natural environment of Fiordland National Park by a very well organised company. Transport by bus from Te Anau (or Queenstown) was efficient with a good briefing there on the evening before. A long walk in for 19.5 km on the first day through beautiful temperate rainforest but as it is along the... More
