The GlowWorm Caves was one of our favorite parts of the trip! The whole thing was really well put together. I haven't don't glow worm caves before but have done caves and usually it's a mom and pop production, but this was first class. They really went all out. I think we would have enjoyed the day trip as opposed... More

We booked with Real Journeys. We went on an evening tour so obviously there was no scenery to look at on the boat trip across the lake so we spent time looking at all the stars. I actually enjoyed it being dark it added a bit of mystery and suspense on arrival when we followed the walkway up to the... More

Wasn't overly impressed with this tour, very short amount of time seeing the glow worms. Plus sued the guides were nice

This tour is well worth the drive to Te Anau. Take a boat ride from the centre of town to the Cave where you receive information about the caves and the Glow Worm life cycle. You are then taken into the caves where you are first on foot seeing some spectacular waterfalls. After walking around 200m you hop in a... More

Interesting tour of the Glow Worm Caves. Took the boat from Te Anau to the caves - comfortable, scenic trip. It should be noted that the caves experience is not suited to everyone. I would be worried about the elderly who are not too steady on their feet and small children. The entrance to the caves is wet, slippery, narrow... More

It was an interesting and different experience to view shiny glowworms in very dark caves. Our guide did a wonderful job. All my family enjoyed this fantastic experience.

a wonderful journey, the cruise was awesome, I found the cave to be very pretty & stunning - the glow worms themselves were enlightening & pretty kinda like fairy land :) but I think I actually enjoyed the cave more than the glow worms.... everyone is individual I guess!

We took the boat from Te Anau in the evening and enjoyed the cruise, but, folks, the sandflys are no joke. They bite hard and leave itchy welts, so be prepared. Once in the cave, I found it very difficult to hear what the guide was saying because the noise of the rushing water amplified underground, so I missed a... More

We drove the 2 hours from Queenstown , which was a really nice route. In the township of Te Anau, we had time for a very nice lunch at Sandfly Cafe before boarding the boat to cross the lake. Well organised by Real Journeys. We booked in Queenstown, but others were buying their tickets there. Once over, split into groups... More

We spent an evening doing a tour with Real Journeys to the glow worm caves. It was definitely a unique experience, and the guides were very friendly, but we were a little underwhelmed overall really. It was a bit of a shame that since it was winter, it was dark, and so we couldn't see anything from the windows in... More
