We did the first part of the track to key summit. To and From took 3 hours. Track was maintained but was narrow and almost 400 meters up. I would rate the track between easy and medium, be sure to have hiking shoes on. Views from key summit were great.

I disliked this walk cause it was bloody raining...that fine misty rain that makes your old bones ache....rather be warm and sucking on a red wine!!

Please do not underestimate the greatness of this hike. The trail is so well taken care of. I was blown away with how perfect everything was. The trail system is simply the best. I swear N.Z. does such a great job maintaining their trails ... But besides that .. The pure beauty of the areas you hike through. No words... More

Lovely track with sweeping views (provided it isn't covered in a thick layer of rain clouds!). Full review here: http://bit.ly/1cKzK7S

Such a stunning trip. Words can't describe the effect this walk had on me. I took my teenage son so was expecting a difficult time but the ancient immensity of the scenery and serenity of the trees bonded us in an unforgeable experience. The rangers were delightful and patiently listened to our endless questions and the easyhike crew that drove... More

Ancient forests, rocky cliffs, enchanting wilderness. I felt like a hobbit on an unexpected journey (though looked more like a dwarf in my oversized raincoat). Just be ready the weather can change rapidly from summer to winter and the rocks are slippery when wet, so extra caution is necessary. I didn't pay enough attention and ended up with a seriously... It was an absolutely amazing experience, you cannot leave this area without doing it!! We hiked from the divide to the routeburn shelter, 2 nights & 3 days, staying at lake mckenzie and routeburn falls hut. The huts are of great quality for their location and ofcourse you get a 5 star view! The 2 lakes along the route were... More

We had an amazing two-day, two-night hike starting from the Divide, staying at the MacKenzie hut the first night. (Very nice!) It was at the very beginning of the season (November 3), and so the top of the track was still a little icy in spots from the snow and heavy rains from the day before, making a few narrow... More

3 days, 2 nights at huts. amazing variety from rocky cliffs to rain forest and everything in between. darran mts were fogged in on our tramp, but we had fine weather on key summit and the falls side of things. new vista around every corner. it took me 19 hours over 3 days; a bit chagrined to find out that... We did the walk over 2 days, starting from the Glenorchy side. Stayed at Mackenzie Hut then walked out the following day. Beautiful scenery, well maintained track and comfortable huts. A great track for families seeing as there are 4 huts along the way. We organised for our vehicle to be picked up by Easyhike who pick up your car... More
