I did the day hike to the top of Key Summit, which is also the start of the Routeburn Track at Divide (road sign for Divide). I would describe the hike as "moderate." It took me about one hour to get to the top, where I lingered for about 15 minutes. I made it down in about 45 minutes. Spectacular... More

*Please note, this is a review for the Trackhopper car moving service that I used when hiking Routeburn Track. I'm posting it here because Trackhopper doesn't have a Trip Advisor page at this time. My wife and I originally planned to do this hike on a Saturday, all in one day. Of course we were just enjoying our vacation, not... More

We hiked the track on a single day. It is a 2-hour journey from Queenstown by car, there is a parking at the start of the track. We reached the top of the mountain (Harris Saddle) and reached back our car in 7 hours (quick, energetic walk, but nothing crazy). The tramp is amazing, the views are worldclass, the facilities... I'm 60 and not much of a hiker, but my little sister wanted to do the Key Summit track on her visit here. We parked at the Divide, grabbed water and day packs, and started out. The day was sunny, warm with cool winds, and there were no sand flies at all! It took about 2 hours to hike steadily... More

We didn't have time to do the full Routeburn Track over a few nights, so decided to do an up and back walk in a day. We walked about 9 km up and had a good break at the Routeburn Flats Hut near the base of the falls. From there it was a much quicker return trip. Scenery was amazing... More

A highlight of our 2014 NZ trip and first overnight hiking/tramping experience. This is a good initiation into the realm of overnighting for anyone with some amount of fitness. We are in our late 40’s and in moderate-to-good shape and had no issues – aside from a run in with a bathroom door in the middle of the night. (turn... More

We hiked up to the key summit and it was a nice hike. Beautiful scenery even on the way up, and lots of different things to make the hike more interesting. Unfortunately, the day that we went was a bit foggy and cloudy, so the view at the top wasn't as beautiful as we expected, but nevertheless, it was a... More

We did this beautiful track from the 20th-23rd of March this year. We got to experience both the sun and the rain during the hike. The waterfalls were especially amazing on the rainy days. The hut rangers were very friendly, helpful and informative in every hut we stayed at. We took our time doing this track and chose to stay... More
