The journey to Doubtful Sound is an adventure in itself (full day from 8am to 4pm), and exceptionally well handled by the Go Orange team. Each of us were collected from our Te Anau hotels at 7am and driven to the wharf at Manopouri, 20 minutes away. Our driver, Mitch, was excellent. One lady hadn't correctly specified her accommodation name... More

Beautiful & peaceful lake. We wanted to go to milford sound but i read that Doubtful sound is better hence i came here instead. There is no comparison against Milford as we didnt make a trip there but Doubtful sound is indeed a very magical place. There were no other tourists bus/ cruise except ours and the whole landscape feels... More

We enjoyed the overnight cruise along Doubtful Sound a lot thanks to Fiorland Expeditions. All was perfect. It could not be better. Thank you very much for the great time you made us have in your vesseln. We will never forget it. Apart from enjoying the awesome views (mountains, waterfalls...) that the Doubtful Sound offers,we could see dolphins trying to... More

My family (wife, 10 and 13 year old girls and me) loved our time on the Real Journeys overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. We were very fortunate with the weather. The trip to Doubtful is interesting with a lovely boat journey across Lake Manapouri followed by a bus ride to the main event - The Navigator. This is a fantastic... More

We decided to pass up Milford Sound because it tends to be very crowded. "Crowded" is definitely not a word that you would associate with Doubtful Sound. The variety of the trip (boat/bus/boat) is a major plus and your first view of the sound from the summit road is quite spectacular. The scenery is wild and impressive, totally unspoiled. Be... More

We departed early morning from Queenstown by bus and reached Manapouri. The bus driver, John, is in fact a very knowledgeable and humorous gentleman. The cruise across Lake Manapouri is already full of scenic views. The bus ride from West Arm via Wilmot Pass offers spectacular views, especially at one point where you get a glance of Doubtful Sound from... More

Having traveled to NZ several times, Doubtful Sound was always one of the sights still to visit. If you have time in your itinerary I recommend a visit. On the day I went the weather was overcast with light rain so I am sure I didn't see the Sound at its best. The area is remote, rugged and beautiful. It... More

Doubtful Sound is totally unspoiled. May this always be so. We went on a Real Journeys bus trip from Queenstown. It was a 13 hour return day trip - one of the longest I've been on but worth every cent. We were picked up outside our apartment at 7.30am and made a 2 hour bus trip to Pearl Harbour near the... More

Our second trip to Doubtful did not disappoint. I was brought to genuine tears the first time at the unequaled pristine beauty and found it similarly moving this time. Moody, dark and mysterious. It is impossible to describe the scale and perfection of this wilderness. You understand just how insignificant we are to the power of nature. And hallelujah for... More
