We drove from Te Anau to Milford to join the Milford Sound cruise, operated by Real Journey Limited, in the afternoon. The weather was downcast, nice and cool.

Described by Kippling as the 8th wonder of the world, we can only agree, and unlike the first 7 its unspoilt and awesome. I was in awe of this place!! Beautiful waterfalls especially the misty and rainbow ones. The lolling hills and snowcap mountains..the clear water...almost like a dream

Prettiest route traveled in NZ, although it was raining at Milford Sound, the route taking us there was very pretty and we visited almost all of the attractions along the way, allow 3-4 hours for a relaxed trip to Milford Sound

- scary and challenging drive to get there, but worth it in the end.
- Southern discoveries 11am cruise was spacious and not busy... buffet lunch is really good value!
- the scenery cant be described an absolute must!

Stayed in NZ for 8 years now and only been here once. The views and scenery are just WOW but you do need a whole day if you taking a tour and a couple of days if you do it on your own. Worth a visit.

We took the Encounter Nature cruise through Southern Discoveries. The guide was knowledgeable and funny and the boat could get so close to the attractions and we even went under waterfalls. It rained while we were on the boat which turned out to be fortunate since the rain created numerous waterfalls on the mountains. Words and photos do not fully...

This is a very magical place , been here twice and am overwhelmed with the view, Im from Queensland and our highest mountain is about 500m, THESE are really mountains!!!
