We saw the Fiordland 30 minute film which is a wordless tour of the fiordlands shot from the air. The accompanying music is very good and the cinamatography is amazing. This film is advertised throughout the town and many shops will hand you a discount voucher. If you don't have a discount voucher, go anyway. This is a worthwhile experience.... More

Thanks Brian M, we're so pleased you enjoyed our Cinema! It certainly is world class... we have people from all over "ooohing' and "aaahing" over our lovely big red chairs, and our sound system is one of the best in the Southern Hemisphere! Hopefully you can come back one day soon! More

Thought it was going to be a great overview of all the sights of Fiordland. While it was a well done film it was a bit artsy for me. Also there no narration so you don't know where you are at any point. On the positive you get to see it in all seasons and see some parts you would... More

Thanks very much for Winterpoggers for your honest critique, and we are glad you still enjoyed the amazing cinematography. "Ata Whenua" was created to be a scenic experience of Fiordland rather than a documentary, so we had flyers made to accompany our tickets...these have some information about some of the places and flora and fauna shown in the film. We... More

We went to an evening showing of a first release movie (Hunger Games - Mockinjay). All seats are reserved. They are very comfortable and the view of the screen is great. There's also intermission which was a bit of a novelty and also fun. They have terrific and tempting snacks and drinks. Also very good value (adults $15 and kids... More

There was a film showing which was shot from a helicopter over Fiordland. The footage was amazing and very emotive, well worth watching to get a feel for the amazing scenery in the area.

Beautifully edited film of views from helicopter flight over the glacier and other local sights. Make sure you read the brochure before seeing the film so you know what you are seeing!

This is really worth 30 minutes of your time when in Te Anau. What an amazing documentary film about the area made over a period of several years (principally shot from helicopters) shown in a theater built specifically to show it!

This is a stunning film of fiordland mostly taken from helicopters. The views are spectacular and you see things from a different perspective. The film last about 30 minutes and it costs 10 NZ$ and is well worth the time and the cost.

On a very wet afternoon in a crowded cinema watched Shadowlands half hour film. As we had front centre seats it was like being the pilot on the chopper taking the film. It was good to see what we had missed due to wet weather obliterating the fab scenery all around us. well worth seeing. get a dollar off voucher... More

A great film from the helicopter of Fiordland on a big screen, awe inspiring. Would definitely watch again if I visit Te Anau again.
