The best way to describe the movie is that it's like watching contemporary art. There are long shots of closeups of feathers and rocks, occasionally bizarre music, and a large segment showing a helicopter flying around. We only went because it was nasty weather and we couldn't make it to Milford Sound at all. I don't think the movie is... More

We loved the footage of Milford Sound. All the better for no commentary and overload of information. It is a true tribute to the national park and more than worth the fee!

We were out on a long walk during our stay in TE Anau and bumped into a gentleman who was cleaning weasel traps. Being the nice nature of Kiwi he asked us about our trip and inquired whether or not we had been to the cinema in town. We had not. he urged we make the trek back through town... More

If you're not going to take a helicopter ride this is worth it. Nice little bar to wait in. Film goes round and round so your can have a drink while you wait for your turn. Comfortable seats and you can take your drink in with you. I am glad we went but its I never going to be the... More

Very personal experience. Reserve your seats, and be aware that Row A is the BACK row. Reserving seats in Row G, I wrongly assumed that we were going to be in the back. When we discovered our error, and asked about other available seats, we found out it was sold out. However, they said there was an area for disabled... More

I thought this was going to be a great opportunity to learn more about the area we were visiting. Unfortunately it is really just an advertisement for the helicopter company that made the film. There is no narration and mixed in with some imagery of beautiful scenery is a significant portion of footage that is out of focus! Waste of... More

Hi kmeehancoop, thanks for taking the time to review us and sharing your thoughts. Fiordland on Film was never intended to be a documentary or educational film of the area. The inspiration behind making the film was the majesty and mystery of Fiordland itself; and so the film therefore was intended to be a cinematic and scenic experience of our... More

This 30 minute film shows many aspects of Fiordland National Park through the seasons. I found it stunning to see the aerial shots of both the Fiords and the surrounding mountains. Apart from the scenery you save some of the native wildlife, some climbers and a cray boat - gave you great perspective on how vast the area is. Do... More

Only went to the cinema because it was a cold wet day but couldn't have been more surprised. The seats are really large and comfortable, and you can take a glass of wine in and enjoy a truly spectacular 30 minute film of some of the best scenery in Fiordland. The staff are really friendly and give you a brief... More

This lovely small theater plays a 30 minute film of aerial views of Fiordland several times each day. The film was truly first class with incredible footage. Well worth your time to see parts of this incredible area that you just can't usually see.
