So beautiful

take a nice boat ride on this beautiful lake with crystal clear water and primitive shorelines. Go see the Glow Worm Caves while you are in the area.

The track is just around the lake. And it could spend three or four days to go. But we could track for several hours because of limit time.

The entire journey from Queenstown to Milford Sounds is about 3 1/2 hours but the entire journey si so picturesque that you will eventually land up spending 5 1/2 - 6 hours.

We took a couple of hours to walk the Wildlife Park walk alongside the Lake (in direction of Manapori). It has lovely native bushes and we saw 14 species of bird in a short time. It's just a nice quiet interlude place.

Our motel was close to the lake and we walked along the shore several times, taking in the beautiful scenery. Take the walk to the bird sanctuary and see the famous Takahes with their red beaks. Kakas and Kias are also there, among others.

The view of the lake is truly awe-inspiring. You can take plane, boat and helicopter trips and there the lakeside path is very popular with walkers. Te Anau town is small, clean and beautiful.

No matter the weather the view is awesome. Doesn't get much better than this Good walking path around to the weir and along to the boat ramp.
