Good for pictures of nature at its best. Crystal clear water that New Zealand is famous for and the sheer enormity of the expanse of water.

The cruise and walk in the bush a highlight for me. The quietness and bird life plus the company. We saw a falcon on the path eating an small animal and enjoyed a cup of tea and coffee afterwards on board.

This is ideal country for walking and the lakeside is stunningly picturesque with the mountains of fjordland in the background. We only stayed one night in the area, but the lake itself merits several days before being ambitious and taking longer treks.

A brilliant trip here with our family. The lake has a pontoon to swim to. Canoes, kayaks, boats, waterskis, sea biscuits etc. It's all happening on te anau. Over the water from Te anau itself are numerous secluded beaches to boat to. The town of Te anau is touristy but not in a too tacky way. Good food to be had... More

Great views, but has less places to set around the lake shores, for the walking lover it is good but with uneven levels.

Beautiful and tranquil, this is the soothing feeling when visitors walking along Te Anau Lake Front. On the sunny day when the sun is at the low position, either early morning or late afternoon, the beautiful Te Anau Lake offers such beautiful sceneries, deep blue calm water with row of mountains at the background, just awesome. Along one side of... More

We loved Lake Te Anau and the town itself - beautiful scenery but all very gentle and quite peaceful. There are lots of activities available but most of these involve going out of the town so it is lovely just to take a walk by the lakeside during the day and enjoy the quiet while everyone is away. There are... More

lake TeAnau is beautiful, defiantly need to stop and stay a few days. The gateway to Milford and Doubtful, with mamy walks across the lake in the national park.

Well organized and very informative ferry ride on Lake Te Anau. Beautiful from the boat on the way to the Glow Worm caves. Tour guides were professional and it was well worth to go on the trip.

The lake dominates the township, reflecting the surrounding mountains, giving clean fresh air and promising fun boat trips or quiet walks. Paths alongside the lake are away from the road and provide a genuine atmosphere of the lakeside similar to Lake Wanaka perhaps. From the end of the lake by the Control Gates great views extend towards Milford, and clean... More
