...and your time is well spent staring out over this beautiful lake. You can smell the gums as you wander along it's edge and they are enticing. The view itself ...stunning. Heaps of bird life. This is one of those free adventures...You should take your time and enjoy it

Walking around the trail past the nature refuge was very enjoyable and gave a lovely view of the lake.

It is a beautiful lake and so very big. We flew over the lake in a small plane which was fun.We walked along the banks and you can sit and eat at tables which are scattered along the banks

We stayed opposite the lake at Radfords so we had the best of the lake at all times. Second largest lake in NZ, good to stroll round a small part of it, very peaceful. Some fabulous sunset pictures plus glorious day time ones with the sun glinting off the moutain range.

Very pretty lake. We drove past enjoying the scenery of many angles. Great place for a cup of coffee with a view at the township.

This incredibly large lake is surrounded by majestic mountain scenery and is definitely worth taking a few days to explore. The nearby town of Te Anau makes for a great place to base yourself while you can explore the area via tramping tracks, boats, float planes, and auto.
