This location is full of surprises for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of tourist towns like Queenstown. It's an easy drive and full of activities and sights to marvel. The lake offers lots for all, there are trails to walk, bus tours to Milford to avoid the icy roads, accommodation, shops - small range... More

This is a lovely lake, which we had high expectations from. However, we found it had more features of a sea bay rather than a lake, with high waves and winds. We took a cruise on the lake to the glowworm caves, but as the cruise was after dark, we could not really appreciate the lake. The nearby lake Manapouri... More

Picture perfect spot for all nature & photography lovers. The view is breathtaking magnificent but weather plays a very important role. Try to visit on a clear & sunny day to get a better view of it all. Lots of accommodation and facilities around & that makes it very convenient for tourist to stay for longer period.

We stayed for three days on the street bordering the lake in Te Anau. The weather went from bright sun, to rain, fog and snow. It's amazing how the weather can vary, or maybe that was our luck? Regardless, every time we looked at the lake it was like it was another place entirely, but always postcard picture perfect. Even... More

Accomodation had a great view over the lake. The weather was such that the clouds were low and as they lifted the view was spectacular. Gorgeous at any other time.

The lake is stunning. Pick a lake view motel, your trip there will be totally worth it. Especially pay attention to the sunset, so pretty!

The lovely lakeside community is an ideal stopover for your trip to Milford. The lake is stunning in it's own right. The town offers many places to sleep and eat. Perfect location for a Milford visit.
