This is definately a place to visit and unwind, was a strange experience for me because I used to live there and we had a jacquzi in almost the same place (with my caravan next to it). we visited Onsen when we were in new Zealand in December. it was one of the best experiences of our holiday! there are 6 individual rooms that look out over the mountain side and down to the shotover River. Tried this out over Easter and had a great soak. Was collected right on time from The Station in Queenstown and taken to the Onsen which overlooks the Shotover River. Wow, did I enjoy that. If you're a long lazy hot bath person (or even if you're not) then this is the definitive experience for you. A more sublimely relaxing dip you couldn't wish to take. Onsen Hot pools in Queenstown is one lovely spot.We had one hour of luxurious time soaking in the hot tub. These pools opened in August 07 and do not seem to be very well known or promoted. We saw an ad in one of the local guide books.
