Honestly some of the best views you will ever see in your life, we watched the scenery change every single day from beautiful green mountains to breathtaking snow covered peaks - gorgeous! The gondola ride was great, very steep, you wonder how on earth the sheep got up the mountain! Highlight for us was the Luge - how much fun... more

What a great view of Queenstown from the Skyline Gondola. Up at the Gondola Station there is a restaurant, shop, paragliding companies and the opportunity to go on the Luge. Would definitely recommend the luge - it was great fun! You can also go and watch crazy people doing AJ Hacketts bungy... more

I went on a overcast and rainy day and i still got beautiful views! The luge was a little boring after i had done the one in Rotorua up on the north island which was a lot better than the Queenstown ones. I wouldn't do the Queenstown luge again. The swing on the mountain is no where near as good... more

My husband and I went in late August and it was absolutely amazing. When we went outside and saw the lake and snow covered mountains, I was in awe. It was pretty cold up there, so coat, hat, and gloves are required. We didn't do the luge, but it looked like fun. Since we are not the hiking types, I... more

Went up there with a friend and it was absolutely breathtaking. The Luge was also a lot of fun. Only advice would be to pick a clear day to go up there, and make sure you bring your beanie and gloves in winter, it was freezing when we went, but then again, that could just be Queenstown. more

Good ride up and lots of chances to take photos and wonderful views all over Queenstown from the viewing areas. Not a lot actually up there and not a lot of places to sit unless you eat something or have a drink. But it was worth the trip. more

I loved the luge when I first tried it in Rotorua. Sadly the Queenstown luge runs are no where near as good, but they are still fun. The Skyline Gondola is a great way to head up to Bob's Peak and get those amazing views of the town. I sat reading the paper for a while in the cafe just... more

The Skyline Gondola is one of the less expensive things to do in Queenstown, and it is certainly worth the money on a nice day (a rainy day, probably no so much). The base of the gondola is a 10-15 minute walk uphill from town, there appeared to be a limited amount of parking, but if you are staying in... more

Get there early (it opens at 9.30am) as otherwise the track gets very crowded. You can buy all sorts of different styles of tickets at the bottom for different amounts of runs but they sell tickets at the start of the luge so its not a problem if you forgot to get tickets. The luge doesn't run if the weather... more
