I walked Ben lomond with friends a few weeks back. We left at 4am so we were at the top for sunrise which was well worth it! It is steep but we actually didn't realise how steep till the way back down as it was dark on the way up and we only had a small torch each! We only... More

Very good and easy mountain to run up and down even when there is some snow, Although it is quoted to take 8 hours return from Queenstown you can run it in less than two and a half hours as I did. The views are also fantastic.

Although the weather was a bit grey when we decided to start our climb up the mountain, the Tiki Track up to Ben Lomond was so much fun! The views along the way down onto Queenstown were amazing and the track challenging enough for someone who never climbed a mountain before. Due to the clouds hanging low and the weather... More

Allow 3 hours from Fernhill if you are walking to the top. Sccenery was spectacular from the top. Well worth the hike up. Take water, food and appropriate clothing as conditions can change quickly. We ran down, which took an hour. Great for training, quads were sore the next few days!

Since I had a later start than I wanted, I took the Gondola up to begin my trek. The trail was clear and well marked. From gondola to summit took 2.5 hrs - much of the delay was due to muddy trail along the snow line. If I were to do it over, I'd bring hiking poles or finding a... More

I did not do the entire walkway do to time constraints, basically my body saying times up. The bit I did do, was an amazing hike on a warm last summers day. Trails were clearly marked. Watch out for the mountain goats. They kept their distance and I kept mine. A great experience with awesome views. You can pick up... More

Though this walk is certainly not for those with limited access such as strollers or wheelchairs, the climb is completely worth it for the view. Sections are very rocky and when we climbed, mud, snow and ice made for a bit more of a challenge. We only climbed as high as the saddle due to recent snow and ice on... More

They call it a "walkway" but make no mistake, it is a hike, and you need to be ready to do what I would call a moderate to somewhat difficult hike. The challenge is to get up to the trail to hike it. You can take the gondola and the chair lift up a lot of the way, but then... More

One of the best walks we've ever done. Tough but doable by all. We continued on to Arthur's Point after the peak - which made for a very full day but gave us a great perspective on the landscape
