My husband and I did this trek all the way up to the summit today (November). The weather was perfect so we had amazing views all the way. We found this trek quite arduous though for most of the way. We started on the Tiki Trail from the bottom of the gondola, which is quite steep but took us about... More

Awesome view from top of Ben Lomond. Well worth the 2 hours it took to get to the top from the gondola. Most of the walk up is on good trails though there is some rocky spots closer to the top. Could be a bit treacherous in the rain.

the views are unbelievable - have to be seen to be believed. well worth the time taken to get up the slope but once there your camera will be busy on the right day. Nothing is flat in Queenstown after all

My husband and I took the gondola up and decided to walk back down. It took us about an hour. Obviously, going down is a lot easier than going up but may be tough nonetheless if you have bad knees. The beautiful scenic overlooks along the way make the walk more than worth it. Not sure we would have made... More

My husband and I decided to dedicate a day to this hike. There was an 80% chance of rain but we went for it anyway. While it didn't rain on us, we were underdressed for the blizzard at the top! We had to turn back about 30 minutes from the top because we didn't feel it was safe to keep... More

This is not an easy walk by any means. There are steep terrains and you'll need a good 7-8 hours if you want to go all the way. But if you've got the time and the will, this track is most rewarding at the summit. For those who are less inclined, there is still a great view at the gondola... More

We hiked this in the early afternoon after our zip lining excursion with Zip Trek. Since we bought a season pass for the Gondola, we rode up and started our hike from the Gondola station. We are in our late 20's and in good shape and it took us exactly four hours round trip at a moderate pace. This included... More

My partner decided that we needed to do the walk to Ben Lomond. I wasn't keen because it doesn't involve a PlayStation controller, but wanting to keep the peace, I dragged myself along to avoid a messy breakup.. First thing we did before attempting the walk was visit the Department Of Conservation in Shotover St for track conditions. Map costs... More

We decided to walk up to the Gondola instead of paying $30. This was a lovely trail meandering through the forest. It was a bit steep in parts. After about 40 mins we reached a clearing where you could continue doing the Ben Lomond trek or reach the gondola. We had to come back because we started late. However this... More
