I recently went on a Via Ferreta trip with Climbing Queenstown. The group was just myself and a friend of mine, who is rather afraid of heights so was somewhat uneasy going into the trip. Our guide Jenny was amazing, really supportive for my friend and super knowledgable about the history of Via Ferreta and Queenstown. I am a reasonably... More

This has to be a must do in every trip to New Zealand! The Via Ferrarta in particular is a unique , fun, adventurous experience!. Neal and his team Donal and Lucy, were fabulous, taking care of their clients in a discreet but thoroughly professional way...you feel entirely safe yet challenged just a little in their hands....with a fair dose... OK, so when somebody asked me to climb the Via Ferrata the other day, being not too comfortable with heights I was naturally hesitant. But hey, any new experience is a good experience. Or so i've found in Queenstown. Why would I pass up the opportunity to climb the only Via Ferrata in the southern hemisphere with some of the... More

My husband and I went out with Neal last week and did their Via Ferrata climbing experience and it was seriously fun. It far exceeded our expectations. Neal is super knowledgeable and has climbed like literally all over the world, so it's nice to hear stories and feel really safe and taken care of. I am not the most adventurous... More

Highly recommend the kayak and Cliff Rock climb option offered by Climbing Queenstown this combines two fantastic experiences all in the one package. The one on one tour that i participated in was an awesome trip that offers a totally diffrent aspect and dimension to rock climbing! For starters - Kayaking to a cliff then climbing up snd down various... More

This ranks as one of the highlights of my three-week trip to NZ. I've done rope/zip lines previously, but had never been rock climbing. My husband had, so this was a good compromise. Neil, the manager and our guide for the day, was fantastic. A+ job for explaining the gear, the course, etc. He let us go at our own... More

I actually ended up getting a one-on-one tour, which was fantastic given that it was my first time doing real rock climbing. Climbing up a gym wall is different and you probably should get some practice in on those before you head to the real rocks. Laura was very patient with me and we did a good amount of rock... More

A BRILLIANT experience that was excellent from the start. Neal was awesome! As a first time rock climber I couldn't have asked for a better introduction. The group was kept small with a total of 4 which allowed for us to take our time where necessary and meant that we could work on building our individual skills. Neal was great... More

Great fun but if you are afraid of heights or don't want to take responsibility for yourself, then this may not be for you. One of our group pulled out for those reasons but the wife and I really enjoyed it.

I recently took a full day climbing course with Neil at Climb Queenstown. It was honestly one of the most fulfilling and spiritual experiences of my life. We went to Wye Creek - with some of the most amazing views of lake tikitapu (sic?) and The Remarkables - and spent a full day learning rope safety and climbing techniques. I... More
