My teenage daughters and I had a most enjoyable ride with Lloyd and Emma. I have only ridden once before, my girls a couple of times, including a bad experience with a large group and the horse she was on rearing up. This trip was perfect for us, only five people, two guides, very clear instructions and as much or... More

As I'm a blogger, I intended to share about house riding. I thought it would be helpful for those who are interested in riding a horse. Thus, I thought of taking pictures of how Lloyd, our guide, gave instructions on horse riding. I had just clicked a shot of Lloyd fitting a fellow rider's foot into the stirrup when that... More

Starting off with a cruise on Lake Wakatipu on the TSS Earnshaw just sets the scene for the beautiful afternoon ahead. Our guide for the horse trek, Lloyd, was a friendly and easygoing guy, and he made riding a horse for the first time a simple and un-nerving experience. A great way to see Walter Peak.

From the scenic and historic boat trip, to the beautiful farm and magical horse trek, this was such a brilliant experience. I've done many horse treks around NZ and Lloyd is one of the best guides I've ever encountered. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area, he put us completely at ease and made the trek a real pleasure. Lloyd... More

As a Queenstown Local I throughly enjoyed the horse trek! We were met at the wharf by our guide Lloyd who was lovely, he then took us to the stables where we met the horses we were going to be riding and then gave us some clear instructions of what to do which was super handy for my friend who... Unfortunately a terrible horse trek, not to be recommended. The guide is a redneck who is not keen to have visitors admiring NZ back country. He is doing this for the money not to share with visitors. I heard of locals complaining too. Very sad as Walter Peak is such a beautiful place. Shame.

I went on the horse trek the day after I arrived in Queenstown. I was the only one on the steamer who had opted for the horsetrek which surprised me because the horsetrek was absolutely lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery is stunning. My horse was gorgeous and Lloyd was a great guide - he explained things when... More

Five of us booked to go on the steamship TS Earnslaw across the lake followed by a horse ride at Walter Peak Farm - Mum (that's me), Grandma, 13 yo daughter, and two teenage sons R and L. The others found a seat near the piano (once a grand, now a digital set into the grand after an orange juice... More

Our first time to Queenstown. Beautiful place and awesome scenery. Booked the TSS Earnslaw cruise cum Horse Trek on the 6th Dec 2014. Great cruise aboard the steam ship. Engines and all can be seen and view outside is great. Next we are met by Lloyd and we were really excited to try our first horse trek as a family... More

We took our 11 and 13 year olds on this trek with Lloyd. He was great with the kids, lots of fun and very informative. For a first time horse ride as a family the length of the trek was just right. The scenery was just stunning and the horses were calm and well natured. Definitely recommended.
