Lloyd, our guide was terrific. I hadn't been on a horse for decades, but this was fantastic. The land and views of the lake were so beautiful, the horses were great. The only thing that I didn't like was that it had to end. I definitely want to do this again some day.

my wife and saw this advertised with the cruise. we were going to go on a longer trek with a different operator but decided that 40 minutes is just long enough to decide if as first timers we liked the activity,as there is nothing worse than doing a 3 and a half activity and finding out 10 minutes in that... We went on the steamer trip and to do the horse trek. I am quite afraid of horses close up but my husband wanted to do this, so I gave it a go. I had a brilliant time. The steamer is 102 years old and is such a lovely vessel. You can watch the men at work in the steam... More

The steamer is an excellent mode of travel to the other side of the lake. I can recommend the horse trek one hundred percent. Could have gone on longer as the guide Was very nice chatty and formative. Pleasant chap indeed. The light refreshments after Where an added bonus to a very good day. The guide loves those people who... More

We went for the Walter peek horse trek because my partner wanted to go on the Earnslaw and I loved the idea of horse riding. Was a very cool afternoon sitting on the Earnslaw listening to the old man play the piano for the duration of the cruise. We were met by Lloyd at Walter peek who took us up... More

Family of four went on the horse trek. We are all relative novices but had no problem with the horses or the trek. Great way to see some spectacular views although you don't scale any great heights. The guide was fantastic and as they keep the groups small you are able to interact easily.

if you have time while in queenstown take the trip on the steam ship which is an experience in itself over to the colonels house there are generally just 6 riders to a trip so plenty of individual attention the guide was really informative and freindly and made the trip more enjoyable even to taking photos of us on horseback... My wife and I combined this horse riding activity with the cruise across the lake from Queenstown. We were the only two tourists to do this horse riding during this particular session. The weather was perfect - around 22 degrees and sunny. The two horses chosen for us were very good. We enjoyed the ride on the farm circuit.

This is a great way to see some countryside from a different perspective. After a great cruise over the lake on the TSS Earnslaw steamship we were taken out for about an hour over some fairly easy terrain with Lloyd, our guide. Lloyd was a great guide and gave a great commentary through the tour. The horses are great and... More

We did the horse riding and the farm tour as an add on. Both are excellent. The venue is amazing and the trip is well worth doing. I had not ridden a horse before, and was a bit nervous, but this was not an impediment. It is worth doing for the experience, and for the scenery. Although I am a... More
