My partner and I were lucky enough to be the only ones on the You vs Wild walking tour with our very charismatic and affable guide, Pete. We'd been on walks all around New Zealand and I thought I had been taking in the beauty of the environment but I was really missing everything! Pete opens your eyes to a... More

We took the Lakeshore Forest and Birds morning walk with Errol. It was a very pleasant trip down a bridle path not much used by others, so we got a chance to really soak up the surroundings and watch for birds. Errol was very knowledgeable about the area and the local flora and fauna. He was also very funny and... More

I have been on all the major tourist walks and tours having lived in NZ for 20 years. The wild vs you walk was a winner. It is interesting, beautiful and educational. I had fun. I will be back with my kids in tow next year to do the snow walk. Thanks Pete. More

Hi Janli, It was great walking with you, I'm glad that you enjoyed it so much, I could go on for days with all the stuff that I've learn't over the years. With regards to the healing qualities of the Tinder Fungus, I've sent you an email with a link to it, which will help explain some of the thing... More

If you've ever watched Bear Grylls or Ray Mears in action and wanted to have a go at that yourself then i totally recommend this trip. I have lived in Queenstown for 5 years now and i will shamefully admit that i know very little about the flora and fauna of the area. In 1 afternoon i was totally educated... More

Hi Jody, It WAS a great day wasn't it. I could see you absorbing the information like a sponge, which made my day. And as we discussed we'll catch up in the next couple of months & go out on a mission, maybe for a day or two, living off he land & trapping our food. Pete More

Waiting in the lobby of our hotel at 8AM, we were a bit apprehensive about a full day hike with a stranger. No worries, as they say. We had a most extraordinary day with a most interesting and knowledgeable man hiking the Routeburn Trail in the mountains outside Queenstown. Just the scenery itself in the area where “Lord of the... Even though we enjoy walking alone, we often book a short guided walk early in our stay to ask the guide about other walks, local conditions and everthing from restaurants to local issues and even politics. Peter our chatty guide was happy to oblige on our half day lakeshore forests and birds walk, and gave us inside information that concierges... More

We just completed our trip to Queenstown and Peter was our guide for a one day hike on the Routeburn track. He was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. We recommend him and his wife Karen highly. Beautiful scenery, great trails, lots of fun. More

Just returned from a wonderful morning spent walking through the forest woodland along the lakeshore. I walked with my adult son, who has Down's Syndrome, with Karyn as our guide. A perfect morning avoiding the heat of the sun in the dappled shade, sheltered from the wind. Karyn paced the walk very well, picking up on our interests and (very... More

We did the Ultimate Nature Experience - a trip up the spectacular Dart River in a jetboat followed by a walk through the equally spectacular native forest. We were picked up by the jetboat from Kinloch before being taken up the Dart River in an hour long trip with stunning views of Mount Earnslaw. We were met by Karyn our... More
