It’s our privilege to take you into...

It’s our privilege to take you into some of the most beautiful and spectacular areas in the Queenstown and Fiordland region to experience everything from glacial valleys and majestic mountains to beautiful lakes and pristine rainforest. Our friendly, knowledgeable local guides ensure you have the time to enjoy the whole experience nature has provided.

We’ve chosen our range of walks for their natural history, scenic beauty, remote locations and varied terrain. We’re proud of our company's reputation for providing friendly, informative and personalised guided walks for small groups, and working to make Guided Walks NZ the most memorable part of your New Zealand experience.

Why choose Guided Walks NZ? The answer’s simple – we’re the only guiding company permitted to walk "off track" in the National Park. This means we avoid the crowds and experience a true 'wilderness' walk, letting you see and touch the real New Zealand.

Basically we received a 1 hour jet boat ride, a 3 hour walk along a public-marked track and transfers. Guide was friendly and helpful enough but seemed eager to get home, it was rainy and cold though. Fun day but definitely not worth $460 per person. Sandwiches were nice. Would recommend doing the jet boat ride separately and doing a... More

Kia ora Sammy Obviously we were disappointed to read your review. You should always receive at least 90 minutes of jet boating ?? If there was an issue here I would like to hear about it. In talking to Pam your guide who is very conscientious its clear the inclement weather did push the group along and on arrival at... More

We joined the above day walk tour during Easter Monday. Flip, a very knowledgeable lovely lady, is our guide and she pick us up at our Queenstown apartment in a comfortable van. There were only 2 couples on that tour so it felt private. I say it is a must do activity while you stay in Queenstown. It is not... More

My husband and I took the day hike on the Routeburn track with Bijorn. Very nice day. We hiked to the first hut and back, about 10-12 miles. Very easy--flat and very little elevation. Because of the dry weather, not too much waterfalls or other water activity, but a fun, nice day out in the woods. Periodically, Bijorn would draw... More

What a great way to spend our Sunday, we were lucky enough to have the owner Peter as our guide and we had a small group. It was a wet and rainy day but what a great way to see this area. They also supplied some great rain jackets for us. Peter is extremely knowledgeable about the area, plant life,... More

I did the lakeside half day walk and the information about the flora and fauna was top class. As a birdwatcher we found several good birds in the trees on the walk. Morning coffee etc sat by the lake was a treat.

We hiked the Routeburn Track and couldn't believe the absolute beauty of trip. It was only a day trip up to the flats and back where we had one of the most scenic lunches of my life. My wife and I decided that our guide Carl was the best overall guide on our honeymoon as he was extremely informative about... More

We spent a good part of the day walking through a 1000 year old forest. It was breathtaking, beautiful and quiet. The guide was knowledgable and funny as he brought the forest to life for us. It was an experience of a lifetime.

Beautiful day. ended up carrying our coats as the weather was so nice. Thanks Bjorn for having us on the trip. These guys have got everything you need gear wise (we even borrowed hats and gloves, not that we needed them in the weather we had). we'd never done anything like this before so it was very exciting for us... The Routeburn track was an easy walk, good for family and beginners by an expert guide. The scenery is stunning and is definitely recommended. A must do when in Queenstown.
