I loved the fact that I didn't have to go to all the different wineries, I could try all the wines in one place...I could have a taste, a half glass or a full glass and got to sample some wines that were just a bit too pricey for me, something I would have not been able to do otherwise,... More

This is a fun and relaxing activity in QT. Our small group shared a salami plate and sampled some local wines. There is a lot to chose from and the staff is so helpful. More

When wandering through Queenstown, I stumbled upon Wine Tastes. It was a combination of wine shop and wine tasting. It was very convenient to try different types of New Zealand wines without having to take an all day trip. There is a charge for each tasting but it is rather convenient to be able to taste the ones you want... More

For $2.50, you can sample some quality New Zealand wines. It may seem like an outlandish price when pouring the small amount of wine (so easily done by inserting a card and pressing go on your choice), but my grand total was $28 and I was set for the night. Plus management is fabulous - if you tasted a wine... More

This place is well appointed, the staff super knowledgeable and the atmosphere wonderful. If tasting 'in town' - this is the place. Charcuterie is available to accompany your tasting. Tom, the manager, will offer great picks if interested in Cellar Door tastings outside of Queenstown. More

Was ok I guess, but Aussies would find this very expensive. We could buy these wines cheaper at home. Lacked atmosphere. The staff were a bit superior as well and we drink a lot of wine so we feel we have knowledge. Better to go to the pub on the wharf! More

great concept, good execution. If you love wines and cheese, this is the place to go for an evening of tasting. A simple system of prepaid card that really works. Very pleasant. More

We bought some vouchers online that gave us discounted credit to spend in the tasting room, which was very enjoyable. This is a great way to taste wines without having to travel to all the vineyards. If you aren't sure what to taste the staff are a great help. A great way to spend a rainy day. More

Dear mew2011, There’s a top tip for future visitors. Unfortunately we can’t publish the website address for the vouchers here on TripAdvisor but as you note we do offer some discounted tastings on occasions and during quieter times of the day, happy hunting for the canny tasters! Thank you for you review of Wine Tastes, it sounds like you enjoyed... More

There are a number of great wineries to visit, and you will need at least one full day to do them justice. Make sure you visit Chard winery (opposite the bungy jumping bridge), they have great wines and the drive into the winery is spectacular. More

Dear claudemelbourne, we are very lucky in Central Otago that we have so many great local wineries and that the majority are in spectacular locations but you’re right in saying that they require time to enjoy them (and it helps if the sun is shining). Wine Tastes is situated in the heart of Queenstown and we have over 80 wines... More

Nice place with lots of wine on offer to taste or purchase by the glass. Nice leather arm chairs where you can sit and sample wine whilst enjoying a cheese platter. Tastes prices ranging from $2-$4 depending on the way. Simplest way to taste NZ wine when you are short on time. More
