For some, Queenstown is all about extreme sport and that's fair enough. I prefer gardens and walks and the Botanic Garden is delightful for both. The rose garden is full of colour and scent; all the roses are named after Kiwis which is a lovely idea. Also interesting to see a memorial to Robert Falcon Scott and his men plus... More

By any standards, Queenstown is a pretty chaotic buzz of a place to visit. A lot of that can be quite fun. But it is also leasing to find the Queenstown Garden just a stones throw from all "that" action. Just a pleasant place to sit, relax and recharge, and with the hum of action from the lake in the... The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. I really liked the idea of Frisbee golf as well. It was a lovely walk through the them.

With most activities in Queenstown costing an arm and a leg, it's nice to find such a beautiful and peaceful garden to enjoy completely for free. My family and I regularly visited this most beautiful garden over the 10 days we spent in Queenstown in January 2015. We walked around it, rode through it on MTBs and simply sat and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our Segway tour and subsequent stroll through the lovely gardens. The garden is well maintained and a great place to go for contemplation or for exercise.

The nicest gardens. Had a lovely couple of hours walk. interesting layout. Ponds, lakes, conifers, rose gardens. No description can do this justice, just loved being here.

The Queenstown Gardens are on Marine Parade and easily accessible on foot. If you are using a car there is free car-parking on the east side of the gardens. You have a choice of 2 walks, one of which is longer and takes you around the lakeside. This is the walk that we did and I would recommend that it... More

i thought someone was pulling my leg when they told me about frisbee golf in this park. It's a real sport! Anyone can hire a frisbee for $5 and play with their friends! So cool to have a target to aim for and 18 'holes' to play. We also sat quietly on the lush grass and were rewarded with a... More

Had a few hours to kill and hadn't made it to the garden yet, so I walked the paths and enjoyed the views across the lake and back into town. If you have a little time, rent discs and play a round of Frisbee golf. I believe you have to be a member to play lawn bowling, but it looked... More

I stumbled on this gem of a public garden that juts out on a peninsula in town. Super lovely, great paths, wonderful vistas.
