We laughed so much at our uncontrollable discs rolling down hills, hitting trees etc. What a delightful few hours spent wandering the gardens and only for the cost of hiring a frisbee( $5-6) at Small planet in town. Great activity for kids and good to stretch the legs before or after a hike.

The peonies and roses were in bloom. Lovely. we liked the fact that everything is labelled so we knew the plant and where it came from.

These gardens feature a rose garden, some native and imported plants and trees (sequoias predominate) and also have a disc golf course (bring your own discs). It is surrounded by the majestic mountains of Queenstown including the Remarkables and lake Whakatipu in front. There is not much to the gardens but on a nice day you can't beat the location... What a spectacular display! If only I could grow roses like that. The cherry tree & the nut trees were in flower, an amazing site and the flower beds are about to be a real picture. These sequoias must be the biggest we have seen outside of Calafornia. The paths were perfect for the elderly nice and flat, wide with no... More

If you love roses then this is the place for you. With the pond the ducks, the massive redwoods and the Disk Golf. A fantastic place to loose a couple of hours in bliss.
