The cruise will take you to one of the best well known tourist attractions in the whole of New Zealand, allowing you to see a number of wild life animals including the seals, dolphins and native birds etc. at a close distance. We spent the night on the Milford Mariner which let us cruise through Milford Sound in the evening and then again early in the morning before returning to the wharf. Given the changing weather, we got to see both the wet and the dry side of Milford Sound.

Fantastic cruise around the sound. Saw fur seals, dolphins, various birds and wonderful scenery. Good value for money, great trip for all the family. Running commentary on route was very informative. You can select a buffet option whilst on the trip, there is also a small counter which sells a selection of cakes and sandwiches of take your own.Only downside... More

I can only say that a cruise on the sound, short, sweat, is worth the 4+ hour drive, each way. This company did an excellent job on the tour. The narrative was nice and informative. And if you peek into the helm, the captain might invite you in (as he did me) which was a nice addition. We decided that... More

We visited Milford Sound for the overnight cruise with Real Journeys in mid December 2013. By coach from Queenstown for over 4 hours felt like 5 minutes as our driver gave us an excellent commentary with interesting background information about the area. It was very wet for the journey but the bus was comfortable with easy viewing seats at an... More

I did the scenic cruise plus the plane flight. Out of the whole tour the scenic flight was the best part, great pilot. With my tour I also selected to have the buffet lunch option. When we boarded the boat we were told to go up stairs. About a hour into the cruise we were hungry so we asked about... More

The boat was clean and since this was Fall, only about half full. The boxed lunch had enough items that you were bound to find something to eat. We enjoyed the commentary as we cruised around the sound. We were lucky that it had snowed a couple of days before and there was snow on the mountain peaks, but we... More

We took an international visitor on one of these cruises and we're so impressed with the whole trip. The staff were very knowledgeable and the boat really clean and comfortable. It helped that the weather was idyllic and the dolphins decided to follow the boat for ages!

Booked the coach+cruise+coach scenic cruise through nakedbus.com for a steal. A lot has been written and said about the place, but Real Journeys made the whole experience beyond my expectations.

We travelled from Queenstown for the day, by coach. A very long journey but worth every minute. the journey itself was great as you can see from the photographs. The Hollyford Valley is breathtaking. The glacial landscape and the fern forests are stunning. Then on to the main event: The boat trip on Milford Sound. This has been at the... More
