We have just finished an overnight scenic cruise on 'The Wanderer' The boat is one of the smaller boats leaving Milford Sound on an overnight cruise. We had our own double bed cabin -bathroom and toilet facilities are shared- these facilities were forensically clean! The weather was grey and miserable though eventually dry. This didn't make much difference as we... More

A New Zealand "Must Do" and it is breathtaking, spectacular! This location is 5 star. A taxi picked us up at our accommodation at 7.05 and delivered us to Real Journey's office to board coach. Our Driver/tour guide was excellent keeping us well informed and entertained. His driving was excellent especially considering the dangerous roads we travelled. The purpose built... More

After a 2 hour drive from Te Anau, and one that should definitely be experienced in your own vehicle for the great views along the way, we came to board the Real Journeys Milford Monarch, a very nicely appointed and spacious vessel that took a slow cruise around the misnamed sound, and we got to see some great waterfalls, basking... A trip to New Zealand will not be complete without visiting Milford Sound as this is one of the most scenic fiords in the country! It is also one the tourist destination declared as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We arrived at the pier around noon just in time for the departure of the cruise. There were already a... More

We did the overnight boat trip which was nice but do not expect a hotel standard of rooms, this is an OK boat with very simple and tiny cabins on board (and the walls are paper thin so we could hear our neighbours quite clearly). It is not 5 star luxury. That being said the staff and food were great... More

We chose the option of joining the coach at Te Anau (it had started at Queenstown). We were very pleased that we took this option as driving would mean that a lot of scenery, and it is stunning, would not be seen. Our driver was very well informed and fed us a stream of useful information, current, historical and anecdotal.... More

Milford Sound is stunning at the best of times but added to that the overnight cruise gave us another perspective and let us see so much more. Well worth doing a real once in a lifetime experience. The crew were very good and the food was impressive for both Dinner and Breakfast. We were very lucky as we had outstandingly... More

This morning Real Journeys picked me up from my apartment and John, the very friendly guide was informative and funny. On arrival we took a cruise on Milford Sound. It is roughly a twelve hour day from Queenstown, but worth the beauty that is NZ! The drive there and back was so beautiful!

We did the overnight cruise on the mariner. The weather was terrible the day we arrived to depart - I presumed it would be cancelled but apparently storms and low visibility are much more common than nice weather here. The tour went ahead and the staff do a great job of making it as fun as possible. Cabins were basic... More

Sometimes an attraction or town or event just exceed expectations - and this was definitely the case with the Milford Sound overnight cruise. Apart from a long 6 hour coach journey each way, I don't think we could fault this. the staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, and worked so well as a team - all seemingly very proud to...
