Neat little place full of surprises. We really enjoyed looking at all the old things and comparing them to modern times. Would be great for teaching the young ones about the old times. We also got some really great pictures for the holiday album! Donations aren't mandatory but if you go you should give a donation out of courtesy.

I had read about this place on trip advisor before we went to Invercargill and wasn't that sure about it, but my husband saw it on the map and since it was a gold coin donation, we figured there was no harm in going. We only had a couple of 50c pieces to put into the donation box, but as... More

when we headed off to Demolition world in Invercargill I thought I was going to find piles of windows and doors. They do have that but the owners have also created a village with all their goodies....including a castle, a church, a hospital to just name a few. It is a labour of love on their part and is well... Definitely worth going. My partner rates it as excellent. A museum come motor yard come yesterday's town, out of the ordinary, interesting, worthwhile, and there for others to try and form an opinion. Paying is optional but it is easily worth several Gold coins and more as it is unique, and with value.

Loved this place and definitely a hidden gem thats worthy of more promotion. Its hard to describe this place other than its a cross between a junk yard, a museum, and an old village. If you are into old world charm and don't mind poking around old places and things then I would recommend you drop buy Demolition World in... More

its a wee bit wacky, but it brings back child hood memories and is a great way to introduce your children as to "the way it was" It seems strange that it was once our way of life.

We visited here and were met by a growling dog off it's lead. We did have a quick look through and found it interesting however it could do with a jolly good clean and tidy up. The muddy paths were a pain too.
