its a wee bit wacky, but it brings back child hood memories and is a great way to introduce your children as to "the way it was" It seems strange that it was once our way of life.

We visited here and were met by a growling dog off it's lead. We did have a quick look through and found it interesting however it could do with a jolly good clean and tidy up. The muddy paths were a pain too.

We had the most delightful tour through a heritage town that has been created through buildings being collected by a husband and wife team who own a demolition business. It is a miniature town as the buildings are smaller than standard size but they are more than life-sized with the contents and charm of a heritage town. There are posed... More

This is a simply amazing place to visit......It is twofold. On one hand it is the best Demo yard ever and on the other hand they have made a yesteryear village out of this & that- all recycled. (They could probably tell you where different pieces came from) The owners are people who have had a vision that has grown... More

Lee and partner Dave have taken Southland's off casts and turned them into a wonderful theme park called Memory Lane. There is a church, schoolhouse, bar, habadashers, castle, railway station, movie theatre, jail, a boat and so much more. Wandering around are hens, ducks, geese, peacoks, and overhead doves and pigeons. Pigs, donkeys, lamas, and goats abound. Its a great... More

From the name, it sounded like a place to buy recycled building products, and it is, but there's also a "village" of weird and wonderful memorabilia. It's not like any other reconstructed period attraction - this village consists of original items and they're placed in various rooms according to their purpose. There's a bakery, complete with moulding bread, a schoolroom,... More

If you ever wondered why we need museums, spend a few minutes amongst this amateurish collection of mainly Victorian memorabilia. Why would anyone assemble such disorganised displays.. and then allow animals (chickens?) to crap all over the place? The areas open for public display reek of animal faeces. Give this a miss. Go see the professionals at Invercargill Museum.
