This is the smallest plane that I've ever taken, mix feelings of excitement and apprehension. Seats were ok, slightly crammed as we had camera bags with us but was bearable since its a short flight. Pilots are really friendly and warm. We were concerned about the flight safety as there were weather advisory of strong winds during the time that... More

This wonderful 'little' airline goes all the way to make a visit to Stewart Island stress-free. Good customer service at both Invercargill and Stewart Island. Flying with Stewart Island Flights allows visitors to have a "birds-eye" view of all the nearby islands, a mosaic of landscape and seascape colours.

we approached the experience with some trepidation, having heard some horror stories about crossings to Stewart Island. However both flights were absolutely fine. The staff were always laid back and friendly, and despite the youthful look of the two pilots, they seemed to be very competent at their job!

My partner suffers from travel sickness so I chose the 15 min flight over the 1 hour ferry trip. Small old twin engine planes that look as though they flew in WW2. We watched the second engine being restarted a couple of times before take-off which did not instill confidence - but the trip was fairly quick and hassle free... More

We recently flew with Stewart Island Flights to and from the Island. A very efficient operation, no fuss and bother and no time wasted, prompt check-in and transfers. Great views from the aircraft. Why risk getting seasick? Fly instead!

Small operation dedicated to flying between Invercargill and Stewart Island. Pilots check you in, then escort you to the plane for the flight.

Arrived & checked in, boarding pass handed over, boarded and ready for off, all by the same man, the pilot! The flight to Stewart Island was fairly smooth and I enjoyed the scenery. The flight back was a little different as it was so windy, it was quite bumpy and my husband was pleased to be back on the ground... More

The view was excellent. Security was somewhat lax, there was not any check of bags that were not checked in. Boarding passes were a piece of laminated number and were not checked against identity documents. Nevertheless the view was excellent, and I had the front seat next to the pilot on the way to Stewart Island. The best seat for... More

We were initially very nervous about such a small plane. It was the smallest plane we had ever been on. However the staffs were very professional and even though it was very windy, our plane still landed safely and the pilot even took a picture with us because it was definitely a ride to remember. That day was so windy... More
