Friendly, on time, great views

Small operation dedicated to flying between Invercargill and Stewart Island. Pilots check you in, then escort you to the plane for the flight.

Arrived & checked in, boarding pass handed over, boarded and ready for off, all by the same man, the pilot! The flight to Stewart Island was fairly smooth and I enjoyed the scenery. The flight back was a little different as it was so windy, it was quite bumpy and my husband was pleased to be back on the ground... More

The view was excellent. Security was somewhat lax, there was not any check of bags that were not checked in. Boarding passes were a piece of laminated number and were not checked against identity documents. Nevertheless the view was excellent, and I had the front seat next to the pilot on the way to Stewart Island. The best seat for... More

We were initially very nervous about such a small plane. It was the smallest plane we had ever been on. However the staffs were very professional and even though it was very windy, our plane still landed safely and the pilot even took a picture with us because it was definitely a ride to remember. That day was so windy... More

was so glad the plane flew at a reasonable altitude so we had a wonderful view of areas we could never manage to hike to. they provide shuttle service to town and then back out to the airport.

Much the best way to visit Stewart Island. Only 20 minutes flying time and not any more expensive. No worries about high seas.

Small planes check, windy environment check, friendly staff check, On a good day you can't beat the flight to Stewart Island and back. On a windy day you'll never forget it! If you get the front seat then you can see how they fly the small thing.

The whole process with SIF was well managed and professional. I have been assured that the pilots are skilled and the planes are very safe...........I hate little planes !!! My husband on the other hand loved every minute of the flight there and back.

Rantin Rover has put all the details very well so I won't go over those again. I am terrified of small planes but the pilot/owner, Raymond, calmed me down considerably. The rest of the family loved the flight. We paid extra to land at Mason Bay on the way over - perfect weather for it that day. And we spent... More
