Near St Clair, you get to go on the housing area on the hill and take pictures of the bay.. Very nice!

Very picturesque, fantastic on a stormy day. Good food and coffe with great views. Try the cafe at the Salt Water Pool with the waves rushing past, particularly atmospheric in winter.

White sandy beaches with roliing surf, surfies and cafes - we felt like we were on the Gold Coast!

Wow - fancy finding a white sandy surd beach 10 minutes from the centre of Dunedin! We enjoyed a stroll on the beach and a lovely late at the cafe just up off the beach at St Clair

We walked there from the center of town: about 5 km, although the hotel recommended the bus, we got to see more of the local scenery. It was raining and windy so the beach was empty...no one but us. The surf was furious; looks great for surfing, but I imagine you would have to check with people who know best...
