Having read the reviews I had my expectations up and was not disappointed. Amazing! -wear good shoes, some considerable hills to walk to beach -wear layers, we went on a windy day but it was chilly and you're outside for 2 hours The tour starts with personalized pickups before we went to the albatross centre. We did not purchase this... More

We met our terrific guide, Donah, right at the end of the pier along with the six other folks on our tour. She had a very comfortable mini-van and off we went to the Royal Albatross Centre for a look at some truly amazing and rare birds. Two of our tour had chosen the extra cost of going up to... More

We spent the day with Elm Wildlife Tours on a private excursion while visiting the area as part of a cruise. The day was absolutely the highlight of our entire trip to New Zealand and Australia. Hooker's Sea Lions, Fur Seals, Penguins and a lot of other birds all made an appearance and I can't believe we were able to... More

We went on this tour in the first week of March 2014 in the middle a rain and wind storm that resulted in significant flooding further north in Christchurch. The wind was a blessing and a curse; it made for ideal albatross flying weather so we saw plenty of them in flight, even though we did not pay the extra... More

We did the "Encounters" tour with the albatross center add-on (an hour spent in the Royal Albatross Center, rather than the hillside viewing on the regular tour). It was a great way to see a lot of the scenery and wildlife of the Otago Peninsula, although we felt it could have been shortened a bit - we were picked up... More

A small group tour, well organised with informative and enthusiastic guides. Can't decide on the highlight - yellow-eyed penguins waddling up the beach only yards away or royal albatross flying close overhead on the clifftops at the albatross centre. A great experience at great value.

This was a great tour, the guide was obviously in love with his "office" as he called it, and very knowledgeable, also good at guarding us from a rather excitable fur seal! It did require some walking uphill, but an 88 yr old in our group managed it! The penguins were one of the best things - acting so naturally,... More

Our tour started at 3 pm in Dunedin and ended after 9 pm, in order to properly view some of the nocturnal creatures on the peninsula. We got great views of fur seals, sea lions, yellow eyed penguins, albatross and numerous other birds. The hikes to the beach sites are fairly strenuous for people in their sixties but we were... I read the reviews and found it hard to believe that I (and my family) would leave feeling satisfied. In fact, we had pretty low expectations despite all the reviews. We toured the Albatross Centre along with the standard tour. It was fantastic. We saw multiple varieties of albatrosses, penguins, sea lions, gulls, waterfowl, you name it. It will be... More
