Great place to get an all encompassing view of the area. Go late afternoon and stay for the sunset. You won't regret it.

Our short stay in Dunedin ended when we drove up Signal Hill when we were actually looking for the steepest street (Baldwin?)... what a find!
The view from the top over the peninsula is breath-taking. The monument at the top makes you stop and reflect. Pity someone sprayed graffiti on it...

Its easy to drive and park at the top of Signal Hill and you are rewarded with a superb view over Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula.
