We booked our tour on the day at the i-site near the Octogon without reading any reviews and were very impressed. Our guide Athol was very knowledgeable about the history of Dunedin and answered all our questions. Our walk concentrated on historic buildings but there are others to choose from. It lasted over 2 hours and included good coffee at... More

Had a wonderful 2 hour walk with this very delightful and informative guide. Loved getting a behind the scenes look at this beautiful city. Learning the history and stories was fascinating and it was supplemented by old historical pictures. Great architectural overview too. Well researched and thought out. Easy walking and also included a cuppa! Highly recommended as a fun... More

Just a stroll around the Octagon will tell you that Dunedin has a rich history. Athol can give you the back stories about this amazing town on the New Zealand's south island. He particularly specializes in the history of the architecture, and he has a passion for understanding how cities evolve based on the needs of it's residents and businesses.... More

We really enjoyed strolling around Dunedin city centre with Athol talking about the history and culture of the city and appreciating some of the wonderful architecture. It was great to view and walk into some of the buildings that have been, or are being, done up and occupied again - they are gorgeous. Dunedin is a lovely city!

We went on Athol Parks' two-hour Old Town Walk and enjoyed it thoroughly. Athol gave us a real feel for Dunedin history and culture. He clearly enjoys what he does, and it shows. He also told us about a great play to see, which we did.

We came to Dunedin mainly to see the wildlife on the Otago Peninsula and it was wonderful indeed but the city of Dunedin was an unexpected gem, with fascinating, well maintained architecture and numerous boutiques and restaurants. The City Walks tour is well worth the time and money. Athol is a very sharp guide whose comments blend history, politics, art... More

Athol is an amazing wealth of knowledge about the city of Dunedin and the surrounding area. He pointed out features we would never have noticed otherwise. He is such a pleasant , easy going gentleman, who is eager to share his knowledge. This tour is definitely worth doing!
