A very good tour and well worth the cost if only for the tasting session in the bar at the end! Would thoroughly recommend combining it with a meal in the ale house next door afterwards! Leave the kids at home (wish we did).

loved this tour - the guide was awesome, very knowledgeable and friendly - the 'free' beer tasting at the end was sensational - could stay and pour your own for 30 mins or so...

I enjoyed this tour - it took about 90 minutes all up through this historic brewery. It was interesting to step back in time and see how beer had originally been brewed, and to see the evolution to the modern brewery it is today. The guide was knowledgeable and the tour went at a decent pace, with time for questions... More

This may depend upon the guide but surely they are all briefed/trained on what to include & say. Our guide was very poor and by the end of the tour it was obvious from their comments to him that the group was fed up. 1. Too many jokes which no one found funny and at times we didn't understand. 2.... More

Great commentary on the history and the production of beer including a free taste testing at the end. One of the tour guides is a direct descendant of one of the original Speights Brewers giving the tour a personal twist. Great alternate to Wineries and all you can drink beer in the last half hour of the tour and you'll... More

It was an interesting tour but got the feeling most people were there for the very generous beer tasting afterwards. Gift shop had some interesting stuff and our tour guide was knowledge and funny.

I have been here a few times now, the beer is always reliably good, the food always very nice, the seafood chowder in particular is fantastic, thick and creamy with loads of seafood, the service is fun, friendly and relaxed, the seating is comfy, a good place for a relaxed meal or drink

A great afternoon full of fun and laughter. We learned all about the brewing process as well as the history of Speights. We had an excellent lunch in the Ale House prior to our tour and returned for another beer after the tour and tasting - it was so good!! Great witty Guide. Definitely recommend this tour if you're in... More

The brewery was on a day off, but with the advent of new equipment there is not much to see. The process was not well explained and the tour geared for home brewers who already knew terms. The best bit was the free- for- all tasting at the end.

I've done many brewery tours on my travels, but this was one of the best. The tour isn't too long (about an hour, plus tasting session) and focuses more on the history, heritage and culture of the brewery, rather than a lot of technical stuff (great if you've been on enough tours to know the brewing process inside-out!) The tour... More
