After seeing all the earthquake destruction and 3 year old holes in the ground, this park is a haven.

Hagley park is just so beautiful and with so many people walking, running, exercising, taking their dogs for walks, etc ..... the place is 'alive' ! The park is absolutely stunning with all the really tall trees ! I wish I could walk around the park daily !

Great foresight on the part of the early settlers! This park has such variety & I'm so glad it seems to be intact after the quake.

Wonderful paths to follow, many along the river. There are rowboats to hire for the river. Just the serenity of being in the park and enjoying others walking there too was a pleasure.

At the heart of the City, it's a great place to spend your precious time. An excellent hangout during Summer for a picnic, to read that book & to be tanned! Amazing photo op during Spring & Autumn. That jog you've always wanted in the winter. If you love walking, you'll love Hagley.

We walked through the gardens to the visitor's centre, where prompt service, with agreeable staff, we were served a good coffee, and warm cheese scone (tasty!). Grandson George loved the fluffy which was scattered with mini marshmallows, and chocolate dusting. Afterwards, George (2 years old) was screaming with delight at the waterfalls in the tropical house, where bananas were growing... More

Hagley Park is just gorgeous. It has so many nooks and crannies to explore, and it's fantastic to live in a city which has prioritised a green area so close to the CBD (well, what's left of the CBD). There are many tracks and it's a route from the North and Eastern suburbs into town, which means that many people... More

This is a large well known park in central Chch. It's essentially in two parts, with a couple of main busy roads through it. Def a popular park for tourists and locals alike, especially in Spring (September) when the blossoms are out. There is a golf course in the middle, some rugby fields, tennis courts and Hagley Oval where the... More
