It was a short walk to the park to get the driving out of our bones. The rugby tournaments were going on, but the place is so large you would not know it. Even the golfers waved as we walked by. The gardens are worth the extra walk. Hard to believe it is in the center of the city!

One of the few things we have largely in tact and now with cricket ground too. A great place to watch sport, bike or walk in the fresh air appreciating the green pastures. Botanic gardens and Antigua canoe-hires nearby as well.

We loved our run early on a Saturday morning. It was completely calm, with bright early morning sunshine. The views across the park are great, and the paths through the trees are good for running. We made our way past the small lake towards the Botanic Gardens, and completed a circle route back to Hagley Park where we started. It... More

Visited frequently in the 1950's when traveling between home (Wellington) and school ((Dunedin). Last visit would have been in 1986 when visiting fro a frien's landmark birthday. Have not been since earthquake devastated Christchurch and do not know how park was affected - but would be sure that reparations have made if required

Hagley Park is an extremely popular place for local and visitors to walk around. It is located by the Botanical Gardens and Museum and a quick walk from the CBD. The new Hagley Cricket ground is also park in Hagley Park as well as a golf course. A amazing green space for the city.

One if the few places in the world that has so many parks, Hagley would have to be the best. You can see and do so many sports there, and with the Botanical Gardens in the middle, it only adds to the charm. There are some places you can take dogs, but be careful. Parking is generally not an issue... More
