Visited Chalfont Cafe for lunch today. We had been to 3 other eateries but none 'fitted the bill' - until we got to diamond harbour. Divine Blue Cod cooked to perfection, attentive staff and very clean facilities. Highly recommend a visit - display cabinet full of tasty desserts etc

Diamond Harbour is a lovely quiet and very beautiful place. There were pictures of the house which used to be there before the earthquake which must have been beautiful. The ferry over from Lyttelton is a great way to visit this location.

Visiting our family from UK this was another little gem on my daughters itinerary. Taking the ferry from Lyttleon port, the views are breathtaking, whilst you are transported less than ten minutes to peace and tranquility, and this is what Diamond Harbour offers. You can walk taking in the scenery of mountains and sea views which are just stunning. There... More

A quick hop on a ferry across to peace and wonderful views. The little beach we were at was a bit too pebbly but very accessible. Wish the beach we wanted to get to was closer to the ferry point. There are no toilet facilities at the little beaches, so be prepared to change in your car.

Diamond Harbour is a short ferry ride from Lyttelton or you can get there by road from Chch or Akaroa. There are walking tracks along the cliffs and also a track up to the summit of Mt Herbert. The new "Chalfont"cafe is well worth a visit for refreshments or a meal.Their ice creams are awsome.

We were lucky to have a warm sunny day to travel over the Port Hills to Diamond Harbour. The views on the way around Lyttelton Harbour were excellent, roads good with little other traffic and a comfortable 40 minutes from the centre of Christchurch.A very pleasant seaside village with a couple of cafes that were a bit expensive for us... Newly moved to Christchurch I decided to have a bit of observation and explore my neighborhood area as I live close by. Driving from Governors Bay of where I live to Diamond Harbour only taking 15 minutes included the road works along the way, but it was fine and smooth driving without annoyance. Arrived here I found it is s... More

Either way Diamond Harbour is well worth a visit .Just 40 minutes from Christchurch City there are many picnic spots or you can visit either of the fully licensed cafes. Great views back across the Peninsula and the outer harbour.
