The view surrounding it is amazing. ("Looks like something from Hollywood movies," my sister said when I showed a shot. It was a hot day when we went there but the water is still cold. Just take the plunge and your body temperature will adjust. There are free shower and changing rooms.

Love this spot for open water swimming. You can clock up some kms swimming around the bays from here. This beach is rarely choppy and a safe swimming beach for families. Just don't tell everyone, its nicer when its not so busy :)

We visited here as an extended family group mid afternoon. Great area. Plenty of shady areas away from the water with great views and available tables. Lovely beach with shells to collect and sand to play in. Safe beach with a raft to swim out to. Slight disadvantage to some maybe that the grassy sitting area is a wee way... More

Corsiar Bay is not too far from Lyttleton and well worth visiting! A very sheltered and pretty place to swim/kayak/picnic. Can get very busy in the summer, so get there early! Bathroom/shower facilities.

We went to corsair bay one hot day in March with the kids. We brought our togs and the water was lovely and calm for a nice swim. The kids loved every bit of it and the adults sat in the shade of the surrounding trees.

Stunning bay, very close to Lyttleton, kids playground - can get very busy in summer, but for good reason!

Nice sheltered place to swim. Only downside is carparking and it gets very very busy on weekends with limited shade areas.

Pack a picnic, or grab some fish and chips and head out to corsair bay for the day. Beautiful wee spot. Best on a hot day so you can swim, but also great for just a spot to hang out. But be aware it does get busy on hot days. Lots of parking at the top of the bay and... More

I love the walk down to the bay. I love the feel of this little bay. I love the way we can swim out to the raft. Its sheltered from prevailing winds. It has picnic spots, on grass, yet near the water.
