Amazing, amazing, amazing: one of the most stunning places I have ever been. Beautiful turquoise coloured lake with spectacular views of Mount Cook sitting at the head of the lake. Everyone must see this

This lake is in the heart of the Mackenzie country, brilliant blue surrounded by golden tussock countryside.
Due to its location its quiet and there are not alot of facilities here.

It is beautifull, but not one of the top 5 places of the South Island. It is great scenery on your way to mt. cook.

Their is a lookout point North of Twizel that looks across Lake Pukaki towards Mount Cook. On a still clear day, the mirror image of the scene in the lake is a photographers dream. A fantastic sight at a fantstic site.

Well that's it. On a fine day it's as good as it gets, with Aorangi (Mt Cook) at the head of the lake. On any other day you take your chances.

Great view of Mt Cook on your way to Lake Tekapo. Nothing much to do here except look at the lake but worth the stop.
