A must see satilite town in the middle of a area that is starved of vegetation or should I say a little barron and issolated. I recommmed a stop for a coffee as it never disapoints.

Twizel is the closest town to Mount Cook and the Tasman Glacier. Twizel has a myriad of lakes including Lake Ruataniwha, scene of the world rowing championships, Lake Pukaki, Lake Ohau, Lake Benmore, Lake Tekapo, Lake Aviemore and Lake Waitaki, Twizel is close to Omarama the worlds gliding centre and magnificent Aoraki / Mt Cook.
