Scared Scriptless showcases Christchurch’s funniest men and women, taking on a version of theatre sports every Friday and Saturday night at 10:15, after the main stage’s performance has finished for the evening. Friday nights are games with an MC, whereas Saturday’s shows are usually themed (topical events or holidays etc.). The Court Jesters are different every week and are absolutely... More

If there is any show you would like to go and see then pop along to the modern Court Theatre. Shows are generally excellent and reasonably priced. There is a large area for drinks prior to the show but no restaurant. Location is close to many pubs/restaurants.

Don't be put off by the'warehouse' style exterior. This is a lovely theatre inside. Drinks and snacks can be taken in, great selection of local wines. Saw The White Guitar which was almost certainly the most powerful performance I've ever seen. Heaps of parking free after 6pm.

My first time at the Court Theatres temporary post earthquake venue. The show itself was enjoyable. The actors, set and story were good. The venue has been done very well however the temperature in the theatre on a cold Christchurch evening was slightly on the cool side. A highly enjoyable evening in a great venue however.

Great play, excellent acting, laughed all the way through. Added bonus went on opening night finishing with cheese & crackers and Champagne.

I was lucky enough to win tickets to the Court Theatre's recent production of Romeo and Juliet through a photo competition. The staff were so kind and hospitable. I'm an international student studying in Christchurch for the semester and I was really hoping to see some theater before I left New Zealand - what a perfect production to see! The... More

When people think about Shakespearean plays, they usually think "boring", "too long", and "hard to follow". The combination of arcane language and obscure similes and metaphors make Shakespearean English sound like a foreign language. Finding the true emotion behind the words becomes a challenge when one cannot decipher what the words mean! Consequently, viewers can't relate to the characters or... More

Very funny show with incredible acting talent. Definite 'what if' situation. Most enjoyable. Dialogue was in both French and English, but you didn't need to know French to understand exactly what was meant.
