This place was amazing. The journey up was pretty scary in the wind but at the same time the scenery was worth it. This is a must for people who do not have a enough time to see all of Christchurch.

Bit out of the way (as with most gondolas because you need a hill to climb !!)although there are public buses that go there. The gondola ride itself is about 10 minutes either way. Up on the top you are actually on the crater rim of the old volcano. There is a souvenir shop and a coffee shop. There is... More

The trip up and back the gondola was quite nice. It was nice to see the scenery looking over Christchurch and you can even still see some of the damage the earthquake caused. At the top you are lead through a big gift shop and there is a cafe on top with a viewing deck but not much else to... More

The views from the top of the Gondola were breathtaking. You could see over Christchurch City centre with the Southern Alps in the background and you could also see over to Lyttelton harbour. They had a little ride thing at the top which was neither here nor there. Try to go on a clear day!

We took the Gondola ride, we were warned that it may be cancelled due to the high winds but took the risk. Gives a birdseye view of the earthquake dmamge throughout the area.

The Gondola is only a short ride on the bus from Christchurch's CBD. $3.50 (NZ) for a single bus ticket. You can buy several variations of tickets for the gondola, including other passes for the tram in the city or punting on the river. The Gondola quickly takes you up into the Port Hills with incredible views of Christchurch to... More

It was a bit windy the day we went up I. The gondola, but they are very stable. Fantastic 360degree views from the top looking out over Christ hue h to the mountains, up towards Kaikoura and down into Littleton Harbour - just be prepared for it to be windy!! Yummy coffee and cake before heading back down the mountain

The staff were great, wind was howling. The Resturant needs some atmosphere. Liked the views and staff

A little pricey but the view is nice. Do wait for the clear skies to get the best view and bring something warm as it can get quite chilly. Venture off the platform and onto the footpath/track and you might even meet some sheep (and watch out for their poop too!).
