Ive been on the Gondola several times in past visits but it was great to share it with my daughter who hadn't done it before. The ride is smooth and offers spectacular view of diamond harbour, the port hills, city, Lyttleton and beyond. You can still do some of the walking tracks from there: check with staff. Also there is... More

Ive been on the Goldola several times now and have even enjoyed it on a misty day - wondering how the weather was when those first early settlers crossed the Bridle path on Banks Penninsula. I like the cafe there, I love the little ride through the time tunnel experience and the shop is well priced for a tourist outlet.... More

Well worth a visit, especially on a fine day. It was blowing a gale but that only added to being up high. Amazing views over the city and Lyttelton and Akaroa.

Could not recommend this enough. We had a beautiful day and I guess the views wouldn't be so good on cloudy or wet days. The service from beginning to end was brilliant. Looking from the ground up it is very deceptive as once you get to the top you have 360 degree views over New Brighton, Lyttleton and Diamond Harbour.... More

Visited the Christchurch Gondola on a beautiful sunny afternoon and the views from the top made the NZ$25 per person cost worthwhile. It became breezy so we decided to go into the cafe for a latte and hot chocolate, and we split a cheese scone. Delicious and worth the NZ$15 total. The cafe has plenty of windows so we spent... More

Its a must visit place when you are in Christchurch. The view from the top of the hill is awesome. There is a cafe on the top of the hill. I saw few sheep grazing on the hill. It was windy and felt awesome. I had a capuccino in the cafe as they were out of stock of chicken

This was the last day of our 2 week trip around the South Island so we decided on having a relaxing day which started with a Gondola ride up to the summit of the Port Hills. The cost is a tad on the expensive side ($25 per adult) and I can see how it would be disconcerting and expensive for... More

We went on this amazing attraction in Christchurch. Although the weather was a bit hazy when we were there it was still quite breathtaking to see views from up so high.Views all around were amazing..
