Always worth a visit as so many different displays. But the Earthquake exhibition is a must. Really brought home those immediate post-quake days and what's now being done to recover More

We were luckly to take a few minutes to view a wonderful display of memorabilia from last years earth quakes. It was a moving and informative display that has now sadly seen it's doors closed after the building was found to be unsound. More

There is a lot of information about the devastating earthquakes -some of the details are very sad, but it is also interesting and informative. We liked the Fred and Myrtle's Paua Shell House. More

Thought we would take just a quick look and spent 3 hours and didn't see everything. Very interesting displays on earthquake, history, native history, dress, animals, etc. If you enjoy museums at all you will definately enjoy this one. The gift shop is very nice as well. More

Though small for a city the size of Christchurch this museum has, besides fine permanent displays , exciting temporary exhibits. At present it may sometimes be closed for earthquake repairs. More

Visitors to Christchurch must make a couple of hours available to wander through the city museum. Get lost going back through time. Fantastic momentos of time gone by. More
