This is must do when you visit Christchurch. The operators goes out of their way to make you feel that extra bit important and nothing is too much trouble to make your visit the most memorial possible even a blanket or a umbrella if you won’t it. The punts have 9 seats you can go as a group or for... More

We decided to go Punting on the Avon on our visit to Christchurch, and were really glad we did. It was nice and relaxing being punted through the gardens, and there were even some cute ducklings around. The punter (I've forgotten his name) gave us an informative commentary and posed with us for some photos afterwards. I'd definitely recommend this... More

Even though we had some intermittent rain, umbrellas provided by the establishment protected us and the 30-minute ride was beautiful and relaxing. The boats leave from two different locations. We left from the Antigua Boat Sheds.

Thank you for braving the elements to come out on a ride with us. All too often people can be deterred from having a boat ride due to the weather. However, those who do take a ride find that we have umbrellas, blankets, waterproofs. and hot water bottles (in winter). We make the ride comfortable so that it can be... More

We really enjoyed this activity. The gondolier operated the boat and propelled us very gently along the Avon River. The river is very shallow and the water is quite clear so it is easy to see the bottom of the river. Ducks, and their antics, added to the enjoyment of the boat ride. The gondolier was very informative and imparted... More

We really appreciate you leaving a review and for experiencing Punting on the Avon while you were in Christchurch. It is very sound advice to suggest booking in advance. Punting gets very popular over the summer months and we only have a finite number of boats. While we endeavour to to take people on the river as soon as possible,... More

This was part of a Christchurch ship excursion for us. It was a relaxing, fun, 30 minute boat ride. The water is shallow, clear and clean. The low riding boat is comfortable, two people per seat, eight people per boat. Our "punter" was funny and entertaining. The ride along the river is very beautiful - low-hanging trees, weeping willows, quaint... More

We are glad that your cruise ship excursion afforded you the ability to take out a punt ride with us. The clean, shallow water is something we can all too often take for granted in Christchurch but it must be a nice change of pace coming off a cruise ship! Thank you for taking the time to review punting, especially... More

Relaxing 30 minute boat ride. The water is shallow so no fear, and extremely clear so you can see the bottom. Ducks along the way. Seats are cushioned and very comfortable. Tour guide did the work and was entertaining. Be prepared to ride with about 8-10 others, but with 2 people per seat, it does not feel as though you... More

We took an 8 & 9 year old on one of Christchurch's iconic attractions. They loved it & for the second time we did too. We boarded the classic punt boat and our expert Edwardian punter took us down the winding Avon river past the beautiful botanic gardens. We meandered down past the large weeping willow tree, historic bridges, lots... More

We think it is great that you came back to see us on the river for a second time. Thank you! Punting is a fantastic way to get the family out on the river, without hassle or worries regarding children being separated from their parents on the water. We have seen a lot of very young family members getting their... More

Nice way to see Christchurch from the river. Able to get a feel for how things are going since the earthquake. Our guide was great.

Thank you for posting your review. The river is definitely an interesting way to see Christchurch since the earthquakes; and get a unique feeling for how things are progressing here. This is especially the case with the City Landing at Worcester Street Bridge, which takes you in amongst the developments in the city centre. Many thanks for coming punting and... More

We had fun engaging guide who took us for a lovely, relaxing punt along the Avon. Picturesque boating alongside the botanic gardens and ducks racing alongside us. We could have done this all day! Families and couples will also enjoy the relaxing scenery and a unique way to see part of Christchurch. Definately worth a visit!

Not going to lie i thought this punting tour was going to go a little longer then it did. But saying that, it was definitely worth going.
