Great spot for a day trip - for big kids or small!

Had a fantastic time here. Before visiting did not really understand some of the preparation required before heading to Antarctica. Now I want to train there!

We really enjoyed our time here. Arrived at opening time and due to that all the special attractions timed in perfectly together. Highlights were playing in the Antartic snow storm, the penguin feeding, the 4d movie and the ride. We were happy to have paid the full admittance price to be able to do all the activities

Anyone visiting Christchurch must visit this place. Very close to the airport the centre shows what the Antarctic experience is all about. It feels real with snow, pengines, snow mobiles etc. It a family experience where my grandchildren had a ball. Many areas are interactive so the or I never lost interest. Highly reccomend

Really enjoyed our trip here, seeing the penguins, experiencing the snow storm and riding on the Haaglund(?) machines were the highlights. There is a lot of information about the South pole and Scott, so if you are interested in this, allow a little more time to read everything they have to offer.

As a former USAP worker, I lived and worked down in Antarctica. The Antarctic Center does a really good job of presenting the REAL Antarctica in a fun, friendly and interactive way. This is great for all ages, keeping in mind that everything is all-ages-appropriate. If you can't actually get to the Ice yourself, the Antarctic Centre is the next... More

Family loved it. Highlight of their trip. They wanted us to go back the next day. Thought it was pricey but well worth the money.

I really was surprised when I saw these tiny penguins, I always thought they were bigger, but then I guess they come in all sizes, just as we do. It was interesting to know all had been injured and there was a sign with the name of each and a band is coloured on their tiny wing is so you... More

Visiting the International Antarctic Centre was one of the highlights of our time in Christchurch. It is located near the airport and has ample free parking. There are very interesting displays about some of the historical exploration of Antarctica. The Antarctic Storm Experience was quite good (although living in Canada we have seen much worse conditions). The little blue penguin... More
