Now this really is one of the places all visitors to Christchurch (and locals) should visit. A really unique experience for everyone and wonderfully informative - even the opportunity to experience for oneself Antarctic Weather ! Christchurch is an Antarctic "Gateway" and this facility is a vital link between the City and the Antarctic research facilites housed nearby.

I went into this with an open mind, with 2 teenage children, however it was surprisingly great. From the arctic blast to the ride in the snowmobile, awesome way to spend the day.

Firstly, we bought our tickets off bookme.com, and so got them for half price. This review is based on that, as if we had paid full price for them, I would consider this attraction quite overpriced. So, that said, I visited here with my parents, in their late 60s, and we all really enjoyed it. We had the full passes,... More

We fronted up and paid the entrance fee expecting something a lot better than what we found inside... I can imagine it would keep kids occupied for a while, but we got through the place in 30min. If you don't buy the more expensive ticket (that gets you access to the cinema show and other experiences), there's not all that... More

I have been here 4/5 times over the past 3 years. I think it needs some changes, very expensive for what is on offer. I will say though, the staff are always very friendly and helpful

This was a lovely place to experience conditions at the Antarctic. We also went into the storm room and enjoyed seeing the little blue penguins. The history was interesting.

This was the second time we had been this time there was so much more to see. The 4d movie was great and the other movie, of course its fun going in the storm room. The great thing for us was the free shuttle from the centre of town out to it as it is out at the airport. They... More

This is amazing .....the staff are so helpful and knowledgeable and its a unique experience....i stayed the night with my class!...that was 10 years ago and we had breakfast with a McMurdo team so I have a special attachment. As an educator i would recommend to all ages.....its so interactive....you will experience a Bliz zard at Scott Base!

You absolutely must do this. It is fantastic for all ages. The hagglund ride is a crazy experience. The snow storm was awesome and so was the penguin feed!! I loved seeing the 'little blues' being fed - they are such characters. Lovely staff, great food in the cafe & it was well worth the money.

The International Antarctic Centre in my opinion is over rated and over priced. They promote that it snows ever 6 minutes which is a complete lie. All they do is drop bubbles from the roof. This is not snow, its bubbles! The Antartic Storom and Hagglund ride is good, but you are only allowed to go in it once. The... More
