It's the ultimate Antarctic adventure! Experience the dramatic seasonal lighting in the four seasons of Antarctica show where it 'snows' every 6 minutes. Venture out on to 'the ice' from Scott Base to play in 'Antarctica' the snow & ice experience and survive an Antarctic storm! How long can you hold your hand in the icy Antarctic water? Hang out with Little Blue Penguins, buckle up for the famously exciting Hagglund ride, take an awesome simulated 4D Antarctic cruise, watch Happy Feet 4D, then watch a stunning movie on a MASSIVE screen! Ice cold in Christchurch

A good idea of what it is like at Scott Base. and the Historic Huts as I remember them. Well worth the time to visit the centre.

I loved this place. We saw a documentary in 4D and it was beautiful. Then we went to the enclosure to see them feeding the penguins. They have a room where you experience the storm. Shoe protective covers and coats are given to everyone to wear. It was a great experience. We had good fun. Hagland vehicle rides are also... More

We had so looked forward to this venue, but on arrival, found it extremely touristy in a negative way. Much sense of history lacking. Parts were interesting with the tents used, but overall really disappointing. Cafe uncomfortable & poor quality, lacking staff & rather shabby. No shop. Pity.

Not everyone can go to Antarctica, but this is the next best thing. You go into a room and they turn the temperature way down so you get the feeling of what it would be like to experience the conditions of Antarctica, you are given a coat to wear. A lot of cool things to see there. Then they take... More

A well presented and informative display. The 4D movie was very entertaining. Staff were helpful. The Antarctic Storm was a great experience and you just have to ride the Snow Mobile.

Extremely interesting place to visit with the displays well set out. Highlights were the room that simulated a freezing wind storm in Antarctica (down to minus 18 degrees) and the Hagglund ride. The penguins as usual were cute with views both above and below the waterline available. On the whole it is well worth a visit and the staff were... More

Interesting place to visit disappointed that we queued for 30 mins to see the 4d show only to be turned away at the door as they had runout of glasses so would have to wait another hour For the next show. Thought the entry fee was a bit too much really.

Let me compare my first time here and my second time. Both were very enjoyable to for me. My first was 4 years ago where I got to see through the eyes of an 18 month old the amazement of seeing penguins swimming all around. The look on their face when they went thru the arctric storm while they are... More

There are lots of things to do and see but it's not a theme park more an interactive museum. The staff are helpful and the Haglund ride and snow storm room are fun, the children especially love dressing in the storm proof jackets provided and sliding down the ice. The 4D movie is both informative and amusing for all ages.... More

What a great experience. Kids & grown ups alike love this place. You go through a snowstorm, simulated travel over icecaps, a wonderful exhibition of all things polar!
