We really wanted to do this when we visited New Zealand last year, as the area around the Southern Alps is stunning enough from the ground. This time we had the money to do it so decided to go ahead and pay for the most expensive flight, as it included a glacier landing. Right from the off it was the... More

Do you ever feel as though you are living one of your dreams? This was it for me. As the helicopter skirted alongside Mt. Cook, I thought for a second that I was in one of those nature documentaries on the Discovery channel. Seriously, this experience was inspirational. We arrived on an exceptional windy day and wondered about air-sickness. However,... More

This was on October 20, 2010 It was so good that we took a second ride the same day with a different plane and pilot The second was as much great than the first one Pilots are greats, likeable and very professional Do it you'll never forget for your life Otherwise it will stay as a dream... We went to Mt Cook with the intention of taking a Helicopter flight around the peaks, lucky for us the Helicopters weren't flying but the ski planes were.. We had previously flown the Glaciers by Helicopter but the Ski Plane experience left the Heli flight dead. Landing on Glaciers by ski plane is both exhilarating and beautiful, an experience we... I don't 'rave' about many things but this has to be on your to do list and put onto your bucket list. I myself have a pilots license and always put a priority in only doing aviation activities in which I am satisfied of the safety standards of the operator. Mt Cook Ski Planes basically has an unblemished safety record,... More

We did this flight in April 2010 and it was the most amazing, incredible experence, the flight was insane and then landing on theTasman Glacier was an experence to behold, the total silence, the beauty, the incredible size, I am lost for words and the beauty bought tears to my eyes and to the eyes of the other 6 people... I recently went on one of the 'Glacier Highlights' Helicopter rides run by Mt Cook Ski Planes. It was an amazing experience. The booking and setup was very smooth and professional, our pilot was very knowledgeable and he piloted the helicopter with practiced ease. The scenery around Mt Cook is beautiful beyond words, and flying through this scenery in a... More

This is an amazing trip that you should absolutely do if you have some spare money. We travelled with the pilot, james, for more than one hour, on top of the tasman glcier with a glacier landing and a snowball fight. This is a fantastic experience to be in this tiny plane, and the tour is great. We advise that... More

I have to admit straight off I'm not a big fan of little planes! But my husband wanted to do this trip, so thought I'd be silly not to do it - and I am so pleased I did it! Once up in the air, the sights are amazing. We circled right around Mt Cook and could see for miles.... More
