Loved the half day tour. Really incredible views, nice coffee and muffins and a great guide. Not to mention baby seals :) my only criticism is that I wish we saved some money and did the self guided tour because we are decently experienced kayakers and could have done it on our own. The half day did include a water... More

We were staying in Nelson so we paid the extra $16/18 for RT bus shuttle pick up and drop off. Our shuttle driver, Joel, ended up being our kayak guide later in the day, too. We each paid $160 for a full day gourmet tour which included water taxi rides, a couple hours hike including over a suspension bridge, and... More

Abel Tasman is a must in my guidebook to New Zealand. I have done 3 three-day trips in Abel Tasman and have always set them up through Marahau Sea Kayaks. The company has many pre-set journeys that vary in length of stay, number of days kayaking, number of days hiking etc. I personally think the Freedom Totaranui is the best... More

We did a two-day kayak-camp, followed by a one day hike out, as a family of four. My daughter had done this trip twice before and loved it. However, the weather did not cooperate this time. Thus the trip was less spectacular, but still well worth doing. With great weather, I am pretty sure this would have been a five.... More

We booked a private guide with MSK because our youngest (9) was too young to join the ordinary group. Jeremy took us out onto the Tasman sea with great good humour, charm and some fascinating tales. The sea was perfectly calm and we saw the beautiful Able Tasman from the most perfect angle. It was very well arranged with a... More

My sister and I (late 20s) did the Ocean and Earth trip a few days before Christmas, 2011. We got lucky with the weather, which was 50+SPF sunny the whole two days, and kayaked with a group of just over 8 people for the first day with the highly competent Chris and Liam (about 4 hours) to Anchorage, where we... Insanely cool experience if you have a little extra cash to spend. Our guide John was awesome and gave us a ton of cool info about the area. The kayaks are very stable and it would be easy to do things on your own as well (they give you an hour or two crash course about kayaking for beginners). 100%... More
