I love Cardrona! The Alpine Hotel is absolutely great, the staff are fantastic and the snow parks/lifts are great. No complaints whatsoever. Love it! More

I would highly recommend this ski resort if you're traveling with children. The programs we were involved with were for a 2 year old (SkiKindy) and 5 year old (Ski School). Both were highly efficient and well run. The SkiKindy involved three hours of skiing, all equipment and clothing, lunch, and inside activities all day (we were there from 9-5pm).... More

Cardrona is about a 30 minutes drive from Wanaka. Hiring a 4WD helps. You can rent snow chains if required for $30/ day at the turn off to Cardrona. There are also bus shuttles up to Cardrona. Cardrona has 4 lifts which access a great amount of area - I loved the Valley view lift which is the lowest lift... More

Great ski resort. Not too crowded and we were there during school holidays. It suited our family with differing ski and snow boarding needs, from beginners to average ability. You need to be experienced and take heed of all information if you are to drive up the mountain. More

We went to Cardrona specifically to ski for as many day hours as we could. Therefore we stayed at Cardrona village, which was very close to the resort gates, but also very isolated at the same time. Loved Cardrona! Staff are amazing, you can see that they love what they do! Great place, it will make you want to come... More

This was our third visit to Cardrona Alpine Resort. We always stay in the resort apartments as it is easy access to the ski fields. The staff are amazing and always eager to please. This is always one of our favourite family holidays and have already booked again for next year. The Mezz Cafe offers great home cooked meals at... More

We (me, my wife, my 12 year old daughter and her friend) came skiing here for two half days on 13 and 14 July, 2011, when the resort had finally opened. It has to be said that the weather took its time to bring snow to NZ this year - but it finally dumped about 2 metres on this area... More

We LOVED our time here. We had been looking forward to our visit for months and were not disappointed when we finally got here. We were delayed by the Volcanic Ash Cloud and late opening of the resort due to lack of snow. (Tip - plan to come later than June!). Everyone here was friendly and incredibly accommodating. Loved everything about skiing here... we are an English family of five, permanently living in Australia, and with only limited European skiing experience. Our children aged 8, 10 and 12, plus the two of us are all novice skiers, happiest on green and blue runs. The facilities are adequate, relatively inexpensive, if fairly basic. The drive up looks intimidating however... More
