I was blessed to be skiing in NZ during the 22 days of continual bluebird skiing. The snow was in great shape considering the freeze/thaw. A great host mountain for Gay Ski Week. All lifts were turning... Which is important because if the valley view isn't working a vast amount of skiing is out of action. So take note.

Our first visit, a very large ski field, 4 chair lifts great trails from beginners to experts. The only thing we didn't like was, they charged a lift ticket for our 6 year old, where other ski fields do not charge till the age of 10. For this reason , we probably will go to the fields that do not... More

Staff were excellent in kitting us out ...... As soon as we said we were absolute beginners the attention could not have been better. Our instructor was brilliant and we learnt what we wanted. A long way from Queenstown but better slopes than elsewhere. Excellent!

Having skied all four ski areas in the Queenstown/Wanaka region Cardrona came out on top for snow quality and quantity, and variety of runs. It also has great ambience with its funky base facility and the comfortable and efficient cafe at the bottom of Captains Basin. Staying on the mountain is something I would like to experience rather than travelling... More

Cardona is a favourite of mine. This was my second year there as a beginner. Last year I had several classes and was able to almost ski. This year I returned and after one lesson with the brilliant and friendly Tim, I was skiing the blue slopes all by my self. The place is a great venue for skiers and... More

First time on a South Island ski field and really enjoyed Cardrona. It helped that we had great weather, but talk about amazing scenery ... mind blowing. Good news is that the facilities were really good, the staff were friendly and welcoming. It's going to be hard going back to Whakapapa! As intermediate skiers enjoyed the slopes and was plenty... We have been at Cardrona Ski Resort many times with our family during the past 20 years. It is just a great place to learn skying as the slopes are gentle and wide. Usually snow boarders stay outside the ski slopes. This year we used Ski Kindy and we just loved it. The first day we were too late as... More

Tripadvisor Review for Cardona Mountain Apartments: Warm and bloody convenient We stayed at the Cardrona Mountain Apartments this year for the second stretch of time. Having accommodation right on the mountain, at the base of the ski area, is incredibly convenient especially if you have small children. The apartments are awesome in general, and in high demand. I booked nearly... More

My partner and I went to Cardrona after a day at Treble Cone, and were really glad of the switch. It has a good mix of runs which was handy for us returning to the slopes after a longish break. The ski lifts were all well placed and allow you to go explore the mountain. We were also pleasantly surprised... More
