Cardrona is sort of an isolated place from queenstown and Wanaka, so staying at Cardrona made us go both ways easy as it's in half way from both sides. Went in summer so the surrounding was quite dry, but amazing view from the top. 14km gravel road drive to the resort, but it was alright. Stayed 2 nights but the... More

After the amazing drive up the mountain we were met by fantastic staff. They couldnt have been more helpful. The apartment is great. The meal was delicious. Although it is the off skiing season it is still worth a visit. There are plenty of activities to keep you amused.

Very nice hotel in beautiful environment and with all services provided (wifi, restaurants etc). Since it's on the top of a mountain, I would recommend it only if you plan to stay around there for hiking though, there's a 12 km gravel street to descend to reach any other location around. Friendly staff.

Easily my favorite field in the Queenstown/Wanaka area, Cardrona sits roughly halfway between Queenstown and Wanaka approx 30-45 mins drive from each town. Unlike Remarks (great for families and beginners) and Treble Cone (great for intermediates to advanced, mainly skiers), Cardrona has something for everybody. It's basically 3 bowls that are carved up into 4 areas. 1. When you first... More

About an hour away from Queenstown but definitely worth the ride here. Multiple lifts that go to different areas with varying degrees of difficulty. The jumps and rails here are massive so not for beginners. The mountain itself has a really nice beginners area which is really wide and open. They also have more difficult areas for more advanced riders,... More

We were snowed in on our first day. The resort was closed but the staff made sure we were looked after. We stayed in a spacious 3 bedroom apartment. The decor was basic but the kitchen was fully equipped for our self-catering needs. We felt looked after by the staff who helped us source a few ingredients that we forgot... More

Found out by chance Cardrona still open 7th October. Travelled up to good powder and no queues, what a nice surprise when we expected the season to be over.

Absolutely loved skiing at Cardrona. Yes, the road up can get a bit hairy, but well worth it. Even better if you can get a shuttle bus up. Lift attendants were lovely and everything was easy to find. Will definitely come back.

This was our second time to cardrona, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the runs are a good width and there is a half pipe and trick field to keep you entertained on the chair lift. all good fun, would recommend.

I have been coming to Cardrona for the past 10 years and having a great experience. Unfortunately I feel Cardrona has really slipped in the last few years in customer service. While the snow is still good (on a good day) the lift lines are getting longer and slower. Lifties seem to be more concerned about compliance rather than getting... More
