Used a company to take us up. The weather has nothing to do with his review, we can't control mo her nature. Did 4 hours total snowboarding and spent 2 in he cafe as it was snowed out and lifts closed. The lifties helped us find our way back and marked out a way home. Mountain is beautiful and fun,... We stayed at the Cardrona Apartments for a week. Pluses: so convenient - virtually ski from the door, pop back for lunch/hot chocolate etc; our 3 bed loft was spacious and well equipped; friendly staff. Negatives: a couple of minor faults with blinds etc. but soon rectified, not cheap. The big advantage is that you are on the slopes, so... More

Great little ski field that really lived up to the reviews. Wide open runs, well groomed and enough choice for a couple of rusty intermediate skiers like us. Staff were friendly and we were lucky enough to also be entertained by the Winter Games when our bodies could ski no more! Having not been here before it's hard to know... More

Highly recommend Cadrona for fun in the snow. We were part of a group that included begginers through to advanced ski/boarders from 3.5yrs to 65yrs and they catered for everyone.

If going to Cardrona stay in the Apartments on the Mountain. Ski in ski out. No night life other than cafe open for dinner but it is so great not having to drive up and down each day. We had a studio which was very spacious clean, warm and had everything we needed. King size bed and two singles. Mezz... More

Love Cardrona. The day was beautiful. Slopes are good. A couple of options for the cafes. Needs updating tho.

Snow quality - great, views - great, ski/board park options - great; however the things that really set this field apart are the calibre of the staff and the quality of the mountain management. You certainly get the feeling a very happy, professional culture exists on the mountain. The lifties are polite (to customers and colleagues) and seem to have... More

As it was my first time skiing I booked a package with lessons. The instructors are very knowledgable and patient, and lessons are divided up with adults in their own group but sharing the learners slope with the younger set - good motivation! From chatting with others, it seems Cardrona is one of the best areas to learn to ski... More

Half pipes, new runs, fun tunnels, new places to stay and eat. That's what we discovered at Cardrona this season. The last time we were here was almost 10 years ago and the mountain just keeps getting better. The snow quality was great. The mountain had more options to navigate than The Remarks and Coronet Peak and is much easier... More

Cardrona is only around a 30 minute drive from Wanaka, making it possible to go back as many times as you care to (and your body can handle). They also offer accommodation for those that want to be out on the snow from dawn to dusk. The views from up out on the snow stretched on for miles, the landscape... More
