30 minute drive to get up the slopes from the main road, if it says chains, take chains! Skiing is mostly intermediate which for me was perfect. Friendly place, not too crowded, great runs. $96 per day for a lift pass. It was 30 mins from Wanaka.

The valley chair lift has too excellent runs which enable high speed safe skiing. Overcrowding in Restaurant is worst than the white star express lift!

Cardrona is remarkably the best Ski resort in New Zealand. It accommodates for everyone's needs. The slopes are awesome and a lot of snow all around. Awesome views all around and the drive to the slopes from Wanaka and Queenstown is great and scenic too. Great time in South Island.

Family had a great day's skiing, cafe was busy and noisy. People certainly pack for the day with car fridges with the lot. If you are lucky enough to score a table, hang on to it!

This is my 2nd time in queenstown, travelling from Penrith, NSW Australia. Each visit we have skied at The Remarkables in Queenstown. I'm new to skiing and was told that the remarkables was the best place for learners. Well, if you are ever told this, don't take it on board. Cardrona would have to be the best place for learners.... It really doesn't get much better than Cardrona. The drive up from Queenstown is breathtaking. The snow is all natural and the view is spectacular. The learners area and magic carpet were perfect for first/second timers. Not too flat that you'll get bored but scenic and challenging enough without throwing you off. I had a fantastic group lesson (2 hours... More

Still the best of the 3 ski fields (Cardrona, Coronet Peak & Remarkables). Good varied terrain, friendly staff, variety of food. Chair lifts need footrests for snowboarders. Thought this would be the norm these days. Be warned though - the pad thai at the Noodle Bar was horrendous!! Had to drown it in soy sauce and chilli sauce to get... More

The learners area and magic carpet are an awesome space for first timers. I had two great group lessons on my first day - was very nervous but the instructor was great. Only recommendation is get your gear down town before going up as the rental area is MAD busy at the start of the day - feel a bit... More

On my first south island ski trip having only ever skied Turoa in New Zealand. My expectations were well exceeded! A bluebird day really helped - the wide open runs were great for the beginners I was with. The road is a bit rough but that's all part of the adventure. The views are amazing - like Whistler, Canada. Not... More

Cannot say enough about the team up on Cardrona, there is no hesitation in looking after you when your trip does not go as planned. What more can you ask for, a GREAT ski field and a GREAT team. You guys rock. I will be back for sure :)
