About an hour away from Queenstown but definitely worth the ride here. Multiple lifts that go to different areas with varying degrees of difficulty. The jumps and rails here are massive so not for beginners. The mountain itself has a really nice beginners area which is really wide and open. They also have more difficult areas for more advanced riders,... More

We were snowed in on our first day. The resort was closed but the staff made sure we were looked after. We stayed in a spacious 3 bedroom apartment. The decor was basic but the kitchen was fully equipped for our self-catering needs. We felt looked after by the staff who helped us source a few ingredients that we forgot... More

Found out by chance Cardrona still open 7th October. Travelled up to good powder and no queues, what a nice surprise when we expected the season to be over.

Absolutely loved skiing at Cardrona. Yes, the road up can get a bit hairy, but well worth it. Even better if you can get a shuttle bus up. Lift attendants were lovely and everything was easy to find. Will definitely come back.

This was our second time to cardrona, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the runs are a good width and there is a half pipe and trick field to keep you entertained on the chair lift. all good fun, would recommend.

I have been coming to Cardrona for the past 10 years and having a great experience. Unfortunately I feel Cardrona has really slipped in the last few years in customer service. While the snow is still good (on a good day) the lift lines are getting longer and slower. Lifties seem to be more concerned about compliance rather than getting... More

Our Summer holidays is a long one starting from end of June to mid August so I thought New Zealand/Australia would be the only Countries where one could ski during these months. I picked New Zealand, mind you, this was my family's first visiting New Zealand. We are a family of 2 adults and a then 8 years old. I googling... More

I was fortunate to experience wonderful spring snow conditions - fine, no wind, cool, good snow base. Not a huge resort by Euro / Aussie / US standards, but enough to explore for a few days. Staff are very helpful. $101 for a single day pass. Low crowd levels which maximised runs, lifts fairly modern and many are fast.

Cadrona is a typical Kiwi ski field. It offers a limited but acceptable variety of on and off-piste skiing. It has four good lifts and a well-developed terminal complex with the usual ticket office, ski hire and restaurants. There is also apparantly on-mountain accommodation although I think you might find skiing on four lifts a bit repetetive after a day... More
