Our 8 year old loved his 1st time on skis that we hired from the ski field at reasonable rates. Will go up again next time we are down.

Excellent learner facilities available where my wife and youngest daughter were able to gain some confidence. My daughter then came up to some more advanced slopes that afternoon. While my older daughter and I were able to enjoy the rest of the ski areas and have a really great day. Plenty of snow fell that day making for a great... More

Very extensive peaks and plenty of ski trails ranging from the very easy to the very challenging. I did find that cafes and places to eat were a little scarce compared to what I am accustomed to back in Victoria, Australia, and there seemed to be one main area at which you could gather to eat, but little else conveniently... A bit of a trek getting to Cardrona and for those of us that get carsick, remember to take some sealegs before the trip. Once there it is an amazing ski resort. Loads of variety in terms of the runs. The cafes are a bit of a let down though, I would have expected something a little more upmarket. The... More

Great skiing in Oct a bit slushy by lunchtime to be expected. Hired boots and skis good service although a bit understaffed so service a little slow perhaps as the end of the season. Everyone on the mountain friendly and helpful.

Wasn't sure what to expect with Queenstown's first week of the official snow season, wasn't much snow in Queenstown but after a journey of about 90 minutes, got to Cardrona and it was packed with snow, blizzard at times and the kidds had a ball, they'll remember Cardrona as the place they learned to ski.

We were planning to go to all 4 fields on our last trip, 2nd on the list after the remarks was here. We loved it so much we skipped the others and just kept coming back here. One complaint was Friday when the schools where up for sports it was way way to packed 20min lift queues. Also the eggs... More

We went as two families with kids at beginner/intermediate level aged between 8-11years over a period of five days - spring skiing. Snow was still pretty good. The mountains were great for us all even the more advanced skiers. Great runs for all rounders. Blue runs are fun and the wide terrain is gorgeous. Not many thin man made tracks.... More

Cardrona is the field we enjoy most for variety and ability to cater for all levels and ages in the party. We were surprised this year to experience no queues and fresh snow so late in the year. It meant the half day pass was just enough for us and we noted we got in more runs than a full... More

We spent two great days skiing here. The lessons were great and got our beginner skier out on the slopes very quickly. We found the resort to be perfect for beginners and there are lots of lovely wide slopes which are perfect for novices. We found the staff at the ski hire to be really helpful and friendly - which...
