The guys at Rangitata Rafts really know how to make it fun. Dave, our guide helped create a fun atmosphere without compromising on safety. The rapids were thrilling, yet easily manageable for first timers like myself. There is also an opportunity to do 2 cliff jumps (4m and 10m) and to float down the river for part of the way,... More

A great experience--as they only run 2 trips a day, there really is no rush, unlike other rafting operations in NZ--and it just makes for such a better experience--we spent almost 3 hours out on the river, and it had some pretty spectacular rapids! Been rafting in NZ before, but everything else pales in comparison. I've written a blog about... More

This was a pretty exhilarating rafting trip that includes the longest grade 5 rapid section in NZ & has awesome cliff jumps too. Fun guides and great rapids made for an awesome day, and although the water was pretty chilly it made the free BBQ afterwards even sweeter! Our raft was was made up the group of us who were... More

Bit late in doing this, but hey better later than never. I would just like to say what an excellent facility I saw the guys at Rangitata Rafts had, although I didn't raft the organization looked very professional, chilled out and relaxing. Everything you expect from New Zealand. But most of all a massive thank you to Billy your diver... More

I have nothing bad to say about this operation. The equipment was good, the river was a-may-zing. However, what really stood out for me was the guides and the way the business was run. This sounds really stupid, but it just didn't feel like a corporate operation (in a good way), more like being welcomed into a family. Highly recommended. More

Never have I done anything like this and I had my doubts about river rafting in a cold river (as the summer 2011 has been absolutely bad in NZ). But I was wrong! Well worth of money. Many thanks to Dan, our guide, for the very professional and friendly guiding through the spectacular gorge! The first rapids are fairly easy... More

Did the rafting as a present from my girlfriend for my birthday and it was the best thing I did in NZ. Decided to do the rafts here and not in Qtown following reviews and word of mouth. Wasn't dissapointment at all. Was an amazing day from start to finish with incredible scenery and some brilliant rafting. They make a... More

Great to hear that you celebrated your birthday in style - your girlfriend obviously choose your present well :) Also pleased that you managed to give back as much banter as the guides dished out. Hope the rest of your NZ trip went well and you had just as much fun. More

Everyone at Rangitata Rafts is super friendly and eager to show you good time. It's a beautiful location with views the entire way down the river. The guides do a good job of teaching you the basics of rafting and then it's on to the fun part! As others mentioned, you have the chance to jump off three different cliffs.... More

Awesome guys!!! Super fun! Funny! They don't just take you white water rafting... they give you an entirely fun experience! They flip the raft on purpose (in safe waters) (they let you know before), they let you sit in front of the raft while the team paddles/surfs over a current (safe also) (and individually optional). You have the option of... More

Thanks - people often make this comment. I think because we are located in our special valley away from the conveyer belt of other busy tourist areas we have the time to spend with those who raft with us and we really enjoy this. Also most of our staff return for continuous seasons so are familiar with each other, the... More

I and my two teenage sons had an utterly fantastic trip yesterday. Right from the start the service has helpful, polite and great fun. Starting with the phone booking a couple of weeks ago, moving onto to the welcome on arrival, the safety briefing and kitting out and then an awesome three hours rafting. Our guide "Chunk" clearly knew his... More
